my telephone appointment with my dr went terrible . She basically said she will only prescribe 25 mg now because my tsh is too low even though my t3 and t4 are in range . I told her I was feeling good just now and even asked her to find out a bit more on your tsh being low what else could cause it but she was totally disgusted with me giving her anything to thing about she just kept going on about my tsh being to low . What can I do change dr would they be any different . Should I just buy it in line ? Please help don’t know where to go with this . I am terrified all my symptoms come back .

how low is TSH ? on GP test ?

if it's over 0.04 you can use this : healthunlocked.com/thyroidu.... useful-evidence-that-tsh-between-0.04-0.4-has-no-increased-risk-to-patients-on-levothyroxine-as-long-as-ft4-and-ft3-are-in-range-.

i suggest you write to the practice manager pointing out some of these references , and your fears about how you will manage at work etc when symptoms return .

Hello BeeGee

I think I would look for a doctor who knows how to treat Hashimoto's auto immune thyroid disease :

Is this a group practise - are there other doctors within this surgery who you can approach ?

You can likely source T4 medication yourself in the short term, but if you stay with this doctor you'll still face another round of upset and mismanagement another time.

The TSH was originally introduced as a diagnostic tool to help identify a person suffering with hypothyroidism and was never intended to be used once the person became a patient and taking any form of thyroid hormone replacement, as then you must dosed and monitored on the Free T3 and Free T4 readings.

There isn’t any other drs in this surgery I will need to change practice . When I mentioned I had Hashimotos she said I didn’t . I am emailing all the information people are sending me then I am looking for another dr not holding out much hope for a better one 🥲

Thyroid UK - thyroiduk.org - the charity who support this forum do hold a list of doctors and endos who are knowledgeable of thyroid disorders - maybe check out the list - and think you just need to contact admin at Thyroid UK for it to be sent to you.

You can also ask for Private Messages of recommended doctors within your area - I don't know, but someone might be closer than you think and have an understanding medical professional ?
