This is really interesting thank you! I only skimmed for now but took away the idea of natural progesterone for my daughter's menstrual issues.

Going back to it another time to look at direct thyroid stuff.

Yes, very interesting. Thanks for this.

A few months into lock down I developed a small rough patch of skin on the side of my nose. I can't see it, but it feels like roughcast, and won't clear.

Despite having it for a couple of years now, I only got the G.P. to look at it a couple of months back. I think it is caused by my underactive thyroid. The G.P. said it is keratosis, and nothing will clear it.

Per the article you have highlighted, hypothyroidism causes keratosis. Tick.

My dentist has me using a prescription strength fluoride toothpaste which I believe I was using too much of in the last few years, and I have since cut down on. Tick.

I think I need to cut out using a fluoride toothpaste, full stop, of which there are probably few. Have any members a recommendation for a good fluoride free toothpaste? Euthymol is fluoride free, but I react badly to this.

Historical use of birth control pills. Tick.

Historical use of H.R.T. when no idea what hormone levels actually were. Tick.

I haven't finished the article yet, but my estrogen and progesterone levels are an unknown quantity.

Finding it very interesting, thanks.

I had a dark rough patch on my leg. Had the GP look at it and was told it was keratosis and to keep an eye on it. I had an essential oil blend made up (which I made to support my thyroid!) and discovered the same blend was good for skin blemishes. I used it for a few months and now the rough patch has gone and stayed gone! In a 10ml roller bottle put 7 drops frankincense and 7 drops lavender then top up with carrier oil (I used sweet almond).

That's great! I'm very fond of frankincense and lavender. I'll follow your lead on this and hope it goes. It is a pest where the very, very rough patch on my nose is, as if my reading glasses slip down my nose they will interfere with anything I apply to my nose. Think I'll need to resort to applying the oil to an elastoplast and sticking it on my nose!

Maybe put it on at night! But then you’ll get a greasy pillow.
