Hi all, just a little advice needed on dose of Vit D:K2 sublingual drops (nature provides).
I have received latest vit d result, currently taking 7 drops to increase level.
should i continue or drop dose back to usual 5 drops or carry on & retest in another 3 months? Hoping by then we will have more sun… I take magnesium complex but wondering if i should just take one form of magnesium like magnesium glycinate. I need to re order soon.
Awaiting result of B12 also done recently.
Amy thoughts welcome please.

I think this is a case of you decide. Do you want to follow what the NHS generally seem to suggest, ie that 50-75 nmol/L = ADEQUATE and >75 nmol/L = OPTIMAL or do you want to follow what the dedicated Vit D organisations (Vit D Society, Vit D Council, Grassroots Health) recommend, ie 100-150nmol/L?
Some people are fine with your level, others need a higher level.
As for magnesium, that's very individual as each form has a specific use, see
Hi there,My vit d is 80 just tested now for the first time, and I've been on megadoses to get it there (12 000 iu daily without realising long story).
So now I have a similar choice to you.
I've decided to carry on (but not on such high doses) till I get to 100 or thereabouts, and in the meantime work on getting my other vit and mineral levels higher, hopefully optimal as suggested here.
When they're more or less optimal I'll see what my symptoms are like and maybe try lowering vit d dose. Maybe just lowering a bit in summer to start.
As until I know everything inc thyroid hormones is optimal, I won't have clarity if I make any changes by reducing doses eg of vit d.
Sorry for burble, just thought I'd say what I'm planning to do in case it helps!
You might want to look at the different types of magnesium and choose the one that seems most likely to help your current symptoms.
I might have a link for that if you're interested.
Hi sneedle, i have been testing every three months to see where im at…. Will prob continue with the recommended drops & re test in another three months. I too would like to get to around 100, all my other bits & minerals are in range. Waiting to see my latest B12 result. My pharmacy have made a bit of a fo par with my levo prescriptions which means i can take an extra 50mcg a week without having to revisit my endo (as suggested by another member), hopefully this will raise my levels up the range. Its all a bit trial & error but ive learnt so much from this forum since i joined.
