Dose change worries

Hi guys,

After years of feeling crappy I finally got to start levo late last year and got 50mg, felt much better in recent months, not perfect but better and went to go over my new results with the doc and he's putting me on 75mg. I'm a bit nervous as my blood results were ok so don't want to totally tank my TSH but I know in an ideal world it should be slightly lower, just a bit nervous the increase will tank it too much. What do you guys think? Is 25mg too much of an increase with these results? Thanks for any advice.

Current results from last week :

TSH 2.49, ref range 0.27-4.2

T3 5.27, ref range 3.1 - 6.8

T4 16.8, ref range 12-22.

Results before starting levo December last year :

TSH 5.72, ref range 0.27-4.2

T3 5.5, ref range 3.1 - 6.8

T4 15.7, ref range 12-22

Vit D, Folate etc all in good range

Did you stop Levo 24hrs before this test? Also biotin supplements for 5-7 days?

What supplements are you taking?

Free T4 (fT4) 16.8 pmol/L (12 - 22) 48.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 5.27 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 58.6%

50mcgs is really only a starter dose. Your FT4 isn't even 50% of its range yet so you have plenty of scope for a 25mcg increase.

Oh that's good, I guess I was concentrating too much on TSH! Yep, I did, I don't take biotin anyway and hadn't taken my levo dose that morning either. I only take a folic acid once or twice a fortnight (seems thats all I need for good levels and too much irritates my stomach anyway) and vit D every day. Thanks for the reply, much appreciated!
