I'm no medic but have personal experience of Carbimizol( which is. good stuff) ,and I would say that you need to watch out in later years for downregulation of tsh . The effector this is that ,even if you become hypo in later years with low t4 numbers , the tsh will not show it up by registering in high range numbers .
I seem to remember you are dealing with both Graves and Hashimoto's which are both auto immune diseases and have Graves Ophthalmopathy running alongside.
It must be a difficult time for you and would just ask were your antibodies rerun before you came off the anti thyroid medication ?
Both these AI disease can wax and wane throughout one's life and the most recent research is suggesting the longer one stays on the AT medication and better the outcome for the patient :-
No unfortunately they didn’t test TSI antibodies. I’m actually very pleased to stop carbimazole and suspect I’m heading hypo . My TSH has been moving up each bloods and FT4 staying at 11. All my hypo symptoms are back. Where I’m at is to retest in two months and be discharged back to my GP. A Wait and see . I’m hoping being on carb for a little over two years is enough .
