Reliable source of T3 please

Ratherbegardening profile image

My blood results are in my bio. From my last post, I had some great advice confirming my suspicion that I am not converting T4 to T3 very well. I would therefore like to add in some T3, as I am really not functioning very well at the moment. Please could members privately message me with details of reliable T3 suppliers? Are there any in the UK? Thank you!

Getting T3 prescribed initially on private prescription could then enable you to possibly transfer to T3 via NHS

Do you have the list of recommended thyroid specialist endocrinologists and doctors who will prescribe T3

Roughly where in U.K. are you currently

Where are you moving to

Some areas are worse than others at prescribing T3 on NHS

But over 61,000 prescriptions for T3 in England in last year

Number increasing by approx 500 every 2 months

searchable by ICB area….or even by GP practice

openprescribing.net/analyse...

Some endocrinologist are private and NHS

Initial private consultation is usually Approx £250

Private prescription T3 Thybon Henning 20mcg tablets cost 50-60p per tablet

Typical daily dose T3 is 2 or 3 x 5mcg dose per day (cutting T3 into 1/4’s)

Cost £7-£11 per month via specialist U.K. pharmacies

No T3 available without prescription in U.K.

you’d be reliant on online via Eastern Europe etc

If you go down the self medicating route, it becomes virtually impossible to get endocrinologist to prescribe T3 ……without going “cold turkey” off T3 for several months

(not recommended)

Thanks for this information SlowDragon. Both the area I am in and the areas we are looking to move to are low prescribing areas. Can't afford to go private. Regarding the NHS route, I would imagine (given a recent referral to another dept) that an endocrinologist appointment would take months to come through. Sadly, that timing would not work at the moment, which is why I was hoping to self medicate.

Ratherbegardening, I'm closing your post to further comment so that source information can be sent only by PM.

It's always a good idea to check the profiles of members messaging you with non-prescription T3 sources.

Unfortunately, we have a history of scam suppliers signing up and messaging members with source/s that happily take your money but never supply the medication.

So, if you receive a PM, look at the member profile. If they are long term regular posters, you might choose to trust their information.

But if they've recently joined here and don't have a good posting history, BE VERY WARY.

You can also message SeasideSusie to ask if she's had any feedback on the source before you commit to anything.
