new results advice please!

I’ve just got my results after 6 months or so on 75 mg and I’m worried my gp will now lower the dose as the tsh is below range now my t3 hasn’t come up as far in relation to thyroxine either

Any thoughts appreciated

When were vitamin D, folate, B12 and ferritin last tested

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Was this thyroid test done early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

FT4: 21.7 pmol/l (Range 12 - 22) 97.00%

FT3: 4.1 pmol/l (Range 3.1 - 6.8) 27.03%

shows poor conversion

if you don’t feel over treated refuse to reduce dose

Get full thyroid and vitamin testing done in another 8 weeks

thanks I thought 6 weeks uninterrupted levothyroxine would be a long enough period but it take your point and will re test. My vitamins were well in range last time but will get folate and d tested as well I inject b12 so can’t get a true picture of levels.

Regarding poor conversion what is the next step? Do I need to take t3? Do gps prescribe that?

Approx how much do you weigh in kilo

Guidelines on eventual dose levothyroxine by weight is 1.6mcg per kilo per day

Retest in another 6-8 weeks

Likely to see TSH go up and (hopefully) Ft3 improve

Only 4-6 weeks since you went cold turkey with no levothyroxine

So what were folate, vitamin D and ferritin at last test

Vitamin levels would crash out the week of no levothyroxine and takes several weeks/months to improve

We need optimal vitamin levels for good conversion

Have you had thyroid antibodies tested for autoimmune thyroid disease, also called Hashimoto’s

Too soon yet to know if you need T3

If Ft3 remains low once on full replacement dose 3-6 months, then will need to see thyroid specialist endocrinologist (usually privately) to get T3 prescribed alongside levothyroxine

trying to add pics of results is killing me.

Folate 9.94 (>3.89)

Active b12 136 (37.5-150)

Vit d 64 (50-200)

Ferritin 41 (13-150)

I’m about 70 kg aiming for 65!

No raised antibodies.

You posted this a month ago

I had a gap in my prescription so went without for a week, then started back on 75mcg as I had been.

This week with no levothyroxine at all will take at least 2-3 months to recover from
