Vit D spray mades me feel tired

It mades me feel tired, sleepy, drowsy, in need of a nap, exhausted....

I started last Tuesday. I tried different times of the day, different doses. I even try before gping to bed and woke up so tired and fatigue.

According to the dose and my weight I should take 2 doses. Last night I tried only one and I took b12 after. I woke up fine but the b12 gives me this boost of energy and motivation.

I have been taking b12 for 2 weeks now and the energy I get is out of this world. It doesn't interfere with my sleep, I practice dream yoga (tibetan) so i can see the benefits.

Thinking to do one last try tonigh with vit D after b12 before bed. Only one dose of vit D.

If this doesn't work what else I could try to raise my vit D levels?

Mividauk2, I have never been able to take any vit D supplements at all. The symptoms you describe are what I experience with just one single dose of 1000iu. I've tried every variant (pills, capsules, sprays etc.) I'm fine with sunlight derived vit D, but not with any form of supplements. It is unusual to be vit D supplement intolerant, but some of us truly are and so far, no-one has been bothered enough to properly investigate the reason this is so. I gave up worrying about it long ago and just accept that through winter my levels will drop. Roll on summer when I can be out in the sun to build my levels back up!

I am sorry Red Apple, I know many are having the same reactions as me. So intriguing. 🧐

In the future I am not staying in UK with no sun that is for sure. I am looking forward to find the way to move abroad. I come from Peru, from the sunny coast. I do really miss so much the sun, sea and seafood. I finally understand the huge benefits of it that I left behind when I moved here. 🌞

Living in the UK has many benefits, but an abundance of year round sunshine is not one of them! I live about a twenty minute drive from the coast, so sea and seafood are available but sunshine is definitely limited 🤣

That is ideal, I live like an hour on train and I don't drive. I love the calming waves of the sea. 🌊

Treat yourself and take the train if you can afford it (and they're not striking!). A day at the seaside just sitting and watching the waves, breathing in the sea air and watching the dog walkers on the beach is so uplifting even when it's not perfect weather. 🐚🚢🪸

I’m also intolerant of VitD and all other supplements, like RedApple I don’t worry about my levels.

Are you taking magnesium supplement?

Vitamin D needs magnesium

If not, suggest you start magnesium (early evening or bedtime - but must be 4 hours away from levothyroxine)

Try just magnesium, no vitamin D for 2-3 weeks, then retry vitamin D

You may need to build dose up slowly

It might work for Mividauk2, but this doesn't work for me.

I really struggled to tolerate any vitamin D initially

I even bought a Vitamin D lamp…..(expensive)

That did very slowly increase vitamin D levels over 3-4 months

Then I was able to tolerate Better You vitamin D mouth spray

Took 6-8 months to very slowly build up

Couldn’t tolerate any tablets or gels

Mouth spray suits me as avoids poor gut function

Now I take 4000iu a day in summer and 5000iu in winter.

That keeps my vitamin D just over 100nmol

and Thorne magnesium every evening

improving low vitamin D should improve sleep

So initially improving vitamin D may make sleep noticeably deeper

Low vitamin D and low B vitamins may be linked as explained here

I am always taking magnesium, I even go once a week to a float tank, water immersion therapy which is filled with epsom salts. So relaxing !
