As there are many types of magnesium we have to choose the one most suited to our own needs, only you will know that so check out the following which explain what functions the different types of magnesium have:

naturalnews.com/046401_magn...

The following link is included purely to describe the different forms of magnesium, ignore the fact that it mentions calcium is necessary, calcium is only necessary if you test and found to be deficient and then your GP should address that

explore.globalhealing.com/t...

and ignore the fact that this is a supplement company, the information is relevant:

As far as i know i dont have a calcium deficiency. So is it best to choose one without?

If you don't have a known calcium deficiency then as I said ignore the reference to taking calcium as well. We should not take calcium unless tested and known to be deficient , then it should be prescribed by a GP and levels monitored. I don't know of any combined supplements anyway.

I think it’s a bit of trial and error to see which magnesium supplement suits you best. For me, I find magnesium glycinate easier on my stomach, but other members have different preferences.

It's the form suggested for heart health.

Maybe its the one for me then. I've just been dianosed with a murmur of the heart. Two leaky valves.

I like Thorne Citramate

Easy to open capsules. Dissolve in small cup water

At least 4 hours away from levothyroxine or T3

I use a magnesium 'oil' spray. That avoids the need to space its use apart from Levo or T3 that might affect absorption.

Oil spray.Forgive me if this sounds weird but is it an oral spray?

It's what they call magnesium flakes mixed in water. Comes as a spray that you spray on your skin and rub it in. It's apparently well absorbed, sometimes better than via the stomach and doesn't cause any upset tummies. Also doesn't interfer with taking any meds.

Thank you. So how much do you rub in? What magnesium is it, so many types. I suffer with irritable legs, thought it might help. Would Holland and Barratt stock it?

I use 20 sprays a day. To be honest probably 10 sprays would work. It's magnesium chloride so no particular fancy properties but works well for restless legs so I hear. Just rub onto legs before bed time.

Yes I believe Holland and Barret sell it, I happen to buy most of my supplements etc from Amazon where there is a lot of choice.
