In search of T3 source since moving to Portugal

I recently moved to Portugal from the US and need to find a resource for T3. I currently take NP thyroid 30 mg. My doctor suggested adding this with my levothyroxine about a year ago and it has made a huge difference in my energy. My muscles no longer "scream at me" when using them. Is there a resource in Europe for T3?

Thank you

First, check that it is legal for you to import medicines such as T3.

Second, find a pharmacy in a country which does sell T3 and check they will accept the prescriptions you can get. They are unlikely to accept USA prescriptions but I don't know for sure.

Buy!

That's the simplified version.

When they accepted UK prescriptions (pre-brexit), many in the UK bought from German pharmacies and were able to get Thybon Henning in 20 microgram tablets. German price will be around 31 euros for 100.

There are lots of them online and you might need to ask several - usually you can check from the information on their websites. Try a translating browser such as Safari or Chrome.

The products I know of are in my medicines document - follow this link:

There are quite a number of products across Europe but, in general, people used Germany because their pharmacies got into online ordering. And their law seemed to permit selling abroad. That has not been the case in some other countries.

Thank you for the information. I tried finding a German on line supplier and only came up with phishing where they wanted to send me a PayPal invoice. Not falling for that one.

These are some that used to be popular from the UK:

bodfeld-apotheke.de/

versandapo.de/

apohealth.de/

And this search should find many more:

duckduckgo.com/?q=apotheke&...

I live in France and T3 Cynomel is made here by Sanofi. It is also prescribed here. The countries in the EU differ. NDT is illegal here but not T3. Ask your GP you well be able to get it in Portugal.

It is not a regular prescription medicine in Portugal.

French pharmacies don't seem very keen on doing internet sales! At least, not to places outside France. I don't know if there are legal issues or just the way they are.

Just the way they are miles behind the times with internet etc.etc. Still using cheques books in the supermarkets. Good with health though so can't complain.

That's encouraging to hear it's available in France. Thank you

Hi vvaughn I am trying to get t3.

I have an appointment with my doctor on wed. First, I have to convince her t3 along with my t4 is the answer.

If she gives me a prescription I shall be on the search as well.

I did have a look and several places came up. But can't enquire without prescription.

Perhaps we should join forces in our search

bodfeld-apotheke.de/This site looked good once I have my prescription. My prescription is from the US so I need to figure that out still.

Sorry but it falls on deaf ears with GP in UK.Been waiting for referral to Endo for 7 months. Think they've forgotten about me. I'm awaiting referral through work now as NHS is on its knees.

I think you can buy it privately but I would still consult a specialist doctor for it to be prescribed.

Also please watch this link. The video from this doctor makes so much sense so I'm following his advice too.

Thank you so much for sharing. Great video. I follow his advice and have for years. I think the vitamin D, stress reduction, keto or paleo diet, sleep and exercise are key. As well as eating mostly organic and choosing the least toxic body and household products. It all adds up. Have you ever seen the website ewg.org? It's Environmental Working Group. You can look up toothpaste, shampoos, laundry soap etc to see the least toxic choice. In the video it mentioned St John's Wart for pain. That I didn't know and it may be helpful for my husband. So glad you shared. Good luck with getting your referral. I hope it comes through soon for you.

You need to be careful considering St Johns Wort in anyone with a thyroid disorder.

Hi VaughnIf you are intending to work and use the healthcare ( which is excellent) in Portugal you should be able to get T3 prescribed if you can prove you have been prescribed it in the past in the USA. It may take a while but it should be honoured if your blood results are in the ranges that keep the Drs happy. Good luck.
