Maryah85 ,, it is best to give more information on your history when posting ... i just looked back to your first post .. haven't read any more yet, but on that one your "pre levo" tests wer suggesting a pituitary problem , TSH 2 . with below range fT4 and insulin like Growth Factor was over range .
The antibodies that were over range were TGab . which can be present in several other conditions as well as hashimoto;s .. (your TPOab were ( just) in range )
Your Results before treatment with levo:
fT4 10.1 [11.00 - 21.20]
TSH 2.03 [0.27 - 4.20]
Results after taking 25mcg levo:
TSH : 0.66 [0.27 - 4.20]
FT4 :10.7 [10.0 - 23.0]
FT3 : 4.3 [3.1 - 6.8]
TPO Ab : 33 [0 - 33 ]
TGab 493 [0 - 114]
Luteinising Hormone Level 4.8 [ IU/L]
Insulin Like Growth Factor 1 Level 43.5 [10.2 - 40.7]
Prolactin Level :289 [102 - 496]
Your TSH became supressed on a very low dose of Levo .and your TPOab were later measured as (just) positive at 35[0-34]
on 50mcg Levo:
TSH 0.08
fT4 14.6
fT3 6.1
TgAbs. 488 [0 - 115]
TPOAb 35 [0. - 34]
Without knowing all the details of what happened next, by reading the rest of your history , or by you giving us more info in this post... it IS ( just ) possible that this endo had an intelligent reason for suggesting what he did .
It certainly looks from that first post as though your problem had some element of central hypothyroidism/or pituitary element to it ...and the case for it being "definitely hashimoto's" with TPOab at those levels is not as clear cut as just saying "well i have antibodies" . lots of people have TGab , and ( i think ?)several other diseases can show TGab ...that is why the NHS prefer to use TPOab for confirmation of autoimmune hypothyroidism .
i don't know how reliable this reference is , but it does seem to confirm that high TGab 's can be present for 'other' autoimmune reasons (apart from thyroid) such a Rheumatoid Arthritis , Coeliac disease palomahealth.com/learn/high....
Thanks for your reply and information. I am confused myself and hoping my mri results show nothing and that my thyroid is ok. I will continue to take 50 levo.
