any brand of 12.5 tablet other than teva

Knackeredandcross profile image

hi all

I’ve discovered I have an adverse reaction to the mannitol in teva 12.5. The thyroid U.K. website says no other brand make this size. Is that correct please?

Keep an eye on helvella 's thyroid hormone document which shows all currently available doses by manufacturer (updates when necessary).

Click on yellow T4 tab in UK section and you will see that Teva are the only brand currently offering 12.5mcg tablets.

You can achieve 12.5mcg by cutting a 25mcg in half, or taking 25mcg on alternate days. Wockhardt and Advanz/Mercury Pharma offer 25mcg tablets if you wish to avoid the Teva one.

I have had northstar/teva/advanz in the 50 dose with no problem but I can only get teva in the 25 and the mannitol seems to be the cause of my recent gut issues. I’m struggling sourcing any other brand of 25

so cut 50mcg into 1/4’s

Alternative 25mcg tablets…..Mercury Pharma or Eltroxin by Advanz

Or Wockhardt only make 25mcg tablets

can’t get any of them in any pharmacies near me, they all only stock teva in the 25. I’ll cut my 50s as you suggest. Thank you

I’ve taken to using a pill cutter to split tablets into halves and quarters. You can find them cheaply on Amazon.
