I would be interested to know peoples experiences with the brand Teva…good or bad. Is there any evidence to suggest that some brands are more compatible than others? I was taking mercury pharma for years then struggled to get it so changes to Teva and now see to have an issue with absorption and other side effects which I can’t put fully down to this hence why I’m asking as I’m curious how others tolerate it, thank you

Teva brand
Some members, myself included, cannnot tolerate Teva. For me, it exacerbated stomach issues. I can only tolerate certain brands of Levo. My GP agreed to write the brands that suit me best on my prescription (eg in my case, ‘Mercury Pharma/ Accord only’), which avoids any issues at the pharmacy. I can get MP at Boots, so it may be worth checking different pharmacies.

Thank you, I can see it has mannitol in which they don’t recommend for people with IBS, hence why I’m suffering! I don’t understand why the doctor doesn’t note this on the system…surely they should look at interactions before prescribing! So frustrating
Many medics have very little knowledge of the intricacies of how to manage hypothyroidism
IBS is common hypothyroid symptom, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease (hashimoto’s)
You should have had coeliac blood test done at diagnosis.
If not, get tested via GP before trialing gluten free diet

Gives you an idea of what might be a problem. For example, people who are lactose intolerant should avoid brands containing lactose.
For me Teva seems to be the best option, surprisingly.
