I have a quandary my friends and wondering if anyone else has been through the same. I started using Armour NDT one and a half grains daily for the last 7 weeks and for the last week I’ve had a REALLY itchy rash on my chest just below my throat and it’s creeping to my neck. I read the contraindications for Armour and it actually mentions a rash in that very area and to get in touch with the prescribing Doctor. Now I have an appointment with the Dr on 12th January and I’ve just sent for a medichecks blood test in readiness.
So my question is, has anyone else had this and did it go away after a while?
I obviously can’t just stop the tablets and don’t know what she’ll suggest and I’m keen to see the results of this test before messing about with other options.
Any thought anyone.

Nope, never have rashes. I did buy some new soap and face wash, both for the shower also used up some old perfume and thought that might have been it but I squirted lots of places and all fine. This morning I thought I’d look up the bumf for Armour and they were quite specific in the area that had the potential to rash up and it’s exactly where they mentioned which led me to post this.
Ok, seems like a definite reaction to the meds then. In some people taking Armour it initially makes any pre-existing rashes worse before getting better, which was why I asked the question. See link below of someone sharing their experience of taking Armour week by week.
Personally if it's just the rash, but you feel otherwise fine I wouldn't necessarily stop taking it. Perhaps try taking an antihistamine before taking?
Some people find contraindications disappear once they raise the dose. Others it gets to the point they have to stop.
Vitamins may help. When was first put on NDT (nature thyroid,) the doctor gave me a supplement plan that included selenium which he said I should take soon after the first dose NDT.
Then I was to supplement magnesium, zinc and vitamin C 3000mg
Thanks, that’s all really helpful. I was feeling so much better after the first 5 weeks of taking NDT but I seem to have been a little grumpier, not sleeping so well and bit spaced out this last week and I had the start of a UTI that I’ve managed to fend off so maybe I need an increase. I’ll wait until I’ve done my bloods and seen the results and go from there.
Thanks too for the link, I’ll read that next.
It’s always so nice to talk to people who understand what’s happening, its difficult trying to explain to people who have normal thyroids quite how we feel and sometimes they look sceptical and sometimes glaze over😂
