I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Thanks to everyone who unselfishly give of time in helping fellow thyroid sufferers over the years.
We appreciate your endless dedication in helping others, you have changed the lives of many. I don’t know what my life would be like if I hadn’t joined this forem. Following my thyroidectomy five years ago, I came close to being bedridden. My Endo had not a clue how to manage thyroid patients. A very lovely man is he, but uneducated when interpreting thyroid labs/adjusting doses.he made me very ill the months following my thyroidectomy. I stupidly allowed him to lower my Synthroid dose because I did not know any better.
Out of desperation I resorted to Google and bumped into this “life saving” forum. I joined, read all the various stories and developed confidence to write my own posts. This gave me the weapon I needed, so I began to challenge the Endo. My health turned around very soon after. My Endo realized that I knew more than him when it came to interpreting and adjusting my dose. He now listens to me and gives me some freedom in adjusting my doses according to how I feel. He’s still not very educated in treating thyroid patients but he is flexible. ( a very pleasant doctor) When I go for my visits, the first thing he asks is “how are you feeling, numbers don’t matter”.
I still struggle with dose adjustments but at least he’s very supportive. I have other autoimmune conditions so I will never be 100%.
So, I’m writing to say a BIG thank you everyone who took time to reply to my posts and offer valuable advice. You all played a role in helping me to improve my quality of life. To the supplement experts, Thank You!
I wish you all good health and happiness for the New Year.
May God bless you all !🙏🏻👍
