I am continuing my experiment to wean off Metavive and switch to thyroxine only to find out if I can manage on levo alone and if I have adequate conversion of FT4 to FT3.
Previously, my results taking Metavive Pro (100 mg) plus Metavive I (40 mg) were
TSH <0.03 mu/L (0.35-4.94)
FT3 5.7 pmol/L (2.6-5.7) 100% through range
FT4 13.2 pmol/L (9-19) 42%
My results when taking Metavive Pro only were
TSH <0.03 mu/L (0.35-4.94)
FT3 3.6 pmol/L (2.6-5.7) 32.3%
FT4 11.6 pmol/L (9-19) 26%
For the last two months I have added 12.5 mcg levothyroxine to one Metavive Pro
TSH 0.02 mu/L (0.27-4.2)
FT3 5.9 pmol/L (3.1-6.8) 75.6%
FT4 15.3 pmol/L (12-22) 33%
This shows a small increase in FT4 but a larger increase in FT3.
For my next two months I have started taking 25 mcg levo and dropped Metavive dose to one Metavive II and one Metavive I (which is 3/4 the dose in Metavive Pro) to see what happens.
I have been told on this forum that I can only find out how well I convert if I take only T4. Do these results actually show that I am converting well since they seem to imply this, even though I am taking a glandular supplement with T4?
