I was on 75mg Levothyroxine but did not feel at all great with this....
I saw a private Endo and I have been on a trial with 5mcg Liothyronine a day for nearly 3 months. It seems to work as I feel much better. My Endo is trying to get my GP/NHS to take over but waiting to hear.
I got my 5mcg with Roseway Labs with a prescription. It cost £30 a month for this.
Can anyone recommend in the UK where I can get such a low dose? I have contacted others but it came in 20 or 25mg, so I cannot use those as they are so little to split. The 5mcg is much better.
Thank you.

I’ve been happily splitting 20mcg Thybon Henning from Roseway for 2 years. 20mcg tablets are much better value. You just need a sharp pill cutter. I can easily cut them into quarters.
They are. And if you get stuck, they have a prescribing doctor on their books. I had a £30 consult a couple of weeks ago and got a prescription for NDT that I wanted to try. Well worth it. So if you were being kept on too low a dose of something this could be a way of getting a top up.
All you can do is ring around the different pharmacies to see if they can obtain 5mcg or even 10mcg which you could split. ThyroidUK have a list of pharmacies who accept private prescriptions here:
I cut my private prescription of Thybon Henning 20mcg into quarters. They snap quite well with a scalpel sharp bladed knife. You can get one off eBay cheaply. I also get Morningside 5mcg off my local NHS hospital but I feel Thybon Henning T3 is better for me. I found Morningside raised my TSH and my T3 bloods reduced. Strange as supposed to be same strength in both.
Thank you very much. I think Thybon Henning 20mcg might be the way to go for me as another couple of person have suggested this as well. I hope the consultant will agree to do this. Best regards
I thought it would be a problem splitting pills but I have found it easier than I could have imagined. It’s my first experience of T3 so a complete novice. I am splitting my 25mcg pill into 8 pieces. They are remarkably even. I have a pill cutter. Also a big saving as getting 8 pills for price of one! This will cut down in number off course as I increase the dose.
