New vocabulary- PTH and US results

I requested a copy of my ultrasound report and it’s taken weeks to come through.

Some new vocabulary to learn!

ENT follow up next week, had MRI with gadolinium contrast last week and waiting on those results.

PTH blood test in range 43.8 (15-65)

Hypechoic lesion, exophytic thyroid nodule, reactive bilateral cervical lymph node seen with maintain fatty hilum all had to be googled!

I can't help unfortunately as my scans just showed nodules and the one that was of concern was downgraded on the second scan six months later and so no biopsy. You are obviously doing all that you can and trying to learn as much as you can which can only be a good thing. Maybe someone else will come along and can advise you better.😢

Based on test showing possible parathyroid carcinoma I would think you need a FNB and see and endocrinologist not ENT ….. From my personal experience I walked around 2 years with thyroid cancer always being told by ENT I was fine until I wasn’t and finally was sent to Endo who said I should have never been sent to ENT.

Thanks for this, I thought as much. I’ll ask the question. Also being checked out for possible Ovarian Cancer too, so will show both departments each other’s reports and see where that gets me. Our ENT are all ear specialists ( I’ve looked the all up) none of them have done throat surgery in the last 2 years. I’m angling for a referral to Oxford. Cross your toes, eyes and fingers for me 💚

I had early stage Ovarian cancer almost 20 years ago …. Don’t delay this appointment
