Parathyroid (PTH)(PTH)
This is a link which may be helpful. Those who have had thyroid plus parathyroid problems will respond when they read your post.
What would you like to know ? I assume you have high calcium levels hence the pth test, you should have calcium tested at the same time as pth as the levels need to be looked at together.
If pth is also high then your dr will need to do further tests to see if the cause is primary which usually involves an adenoma on one or more of the parathyroid glands, or secondary which is caused by another issue, possibly vitd deficiency.
It's a complicated problem so not possible to cover everything at once, we have all the info on hyperparathyroid.org.uk
If you have your results post on the pth website and we will do out best to answer your questions.
Do you take vitamin D supplements?
Taking vitamin D increases calcium levels, which is why vitamin K2 is recommended to send excess calcium to bones
Magnesium important with vitamin D too
Tks for reply I have osteoporosis in spine and hip so I do have Adcal and also have Atorvastin, and Ibandronic acid 150mg, due to the fact I all have high cholesterol, I do have a prescription for 15 medications, but the 3 I mentioned are prescribed because of my osteoporosis n high Cholesterol.
