I have multiple health problems so see my Rheumatologist/Dr for regular Blood test recently I was told I needed to do this Test at the Hospital, leading up to this I had 3 blood test one after the other so I knew there was a problem not unusual for me, but this isn't a blood test I have had b/fore o obviously I a am curious to learn more I do know that dispite the name of the test it is not the Thyroid that is the problem but I would be most grateful for any information on this matter,

This is a link which may be helpful. Those who have had thyroid plus parathyroid problems will respond when they read your post.

What would you like to know ? I assume you have high calcium levels hence the pth test, you should have calcium tested at the same time as pth as the levels need to be looked at together.

If pth is also high then your dr will need to do further tests to see if the cause is primary which usually involves an adenoma on one or more of the parathyroid glands, or secondary which is caused by another issue, possibly vitd deficiency.

It's a complicated problem so not possible to cover everything at once, we have all the info on hyperparathyroid.org.uk

If you have your results post on the pth website and we will do out best to answer your questions.

Tks for your reply I have no results at the moment, I just had the lastest test at the Docter but the next day I received letter from the Hospital asking me to go and have the Parathyroid (PTH) (PTH)

Do you take vitamin D supplements?

Taking vitamin D increases calcium levels, which is why vitamin K2 is recommended to send excess calcium to bones

Magnesium important with vitamin D too

So sounds like your taking high dose calcium and vitamin D

Presumably also have thyroid condition

High cholesterol can be due to being hypo

You need to get copies of your results for us to have any clue as to what's going on, without knowing calcium and pth levels its impossible to guess what the problem might be.
