I’ve been on Thyroxine for approx 6 weeks and had bloods done as I have an appointment at the Thyroid Clinic this week. Results are now in and I know some of my vitamins are low but to be honest I’ve been a little lax on taking everything except Vit D which is rising nicely. Now I’ve done the blood test I’ll get back to popping all pills properly. I’m happy with my thyroid results as they are a lot better than they were although my T3 could be a bit higher I think.I feel much better and a little more motivated to get things done, even lost a few lbs already. However I still feel really tired but probably down to low ferritin and folate. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcomed and I would say that I couldn’t have done this without the help and support from you guys, so thank you so much. 🥰🥰🥰

Any questions I should be asking????
Sorry your post was missed yesterday
Very busy forum
Was test done early morning ideally before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
How much levothyroxine are you currently taking
Which brand of levothyroxine
High thyroid antibodies confirms autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto’s
Did you know you have Hashimoto’s
Have you had coeliac blood test done
Or are you already on strictly gluten free diet
What vitamin supplements were you taking
Folate needs improving
A daily good quality vitamin B complex will help keep all B vitamins in balance
Difference between folate and folic acid

Many Hashimoto’s patients have MTHFR gene variation and can have trouble processing folic acid.

B vitamins best taken after breakfast
Thorne Basic B recommended vitamin B complex that contains folate, but they are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule)
IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate methyl folate supplement
No worries I know it gets busy. I’m on a starter dose of 50mcg Aristo. I did the test under all recommendations and have started back on the Thorne Basic B vits, and continuing with Vit D and K as recommended. I’m waiting a week or so before taking the iron so I don’t frighten my system. I’ve also got some selenium and zinc to throw into the mix soon with the B Vitamins it says one tablet 3 times a day so I’ve been taking it after meals, is this okay?
I did know I had Hashimoto’s, I’ve had fluctuating raised antibodies for ages.
coeliac test was negative I tried going gluten free and didn’t really find any difference and also found it difficult as I’m lactose intolerant and choices when out and about were so limited.
I feel much better in myself and slightly more motivated but I’m exhausted doing very little so I need to get strict with the iron and folate I think
Thanks for info 🥰
Ferritin doesn’t look too bad
Never take iron supplements unless had full iron panel test and found iron levels low
Iron is very toxic in excess
medichecks.com/products/iro...
Iron test should be early morning and fasting and don’t eat steak or equivalent evening before test
GP recommended an iron supplement so went with it, in fairness they did the blood work but she wasn’t too bothered. I didn’t get on with her at all, thankfully she’s retired and a very nice doc has replaced her, I’ll speak to her. Just looked, my ferritin is only 67 (30-650)!
That’s an odd range on ferritin….usually 30-150 for females
So yes ..if that’s correct…it’s low
Approx how old are you
Pre or post menopause
66 so well over the menopause 😂
suggest you consider testing zinc and selenium and copper
Zinc and copper

Medichecks do selenium test
FT4: 18.1 pmol/l (Range 12 - 22)
Ft4 is 61.00% through range
FT3: 4.1 pmol/l (Range 3.1 - 6.8)
Ft3 only 27.03% through range
So likely to need further increase in levothyroxine soon, if not immediately
And improving vitamins and trialing strictly gluten free diet may help improve conversion rate of Ft4 to Ft3
I was wondering about my T3 not having risen Did wonder if an increase would push my T4 over but looking at the range of 61% it brings into perspective and I’ve room to manoeuvre so to speak
I’m working on my vitamins, I feel so tired, didn’t have the strength to climb on the chair earlier! I’ve not got the energy to do much and when I do get on I pay the price the next day. Although in lots of ways I feel better, more motivated and not so fuzzy headed so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel thank goodness.
Got an appointment with the Thyroid Clinic on Thursday so hopefully she’ll say the same 🤞🏼 Thanks for info, always appreciated 🥰
