FT3: 4.27 pg/mLl (Range 2.18 - 3.98) 116.

FT4: 1.53 Ng/dl (Range 0.76 - 1.46) 110.00%

FT3: 4.27 pg/mLl (Range 2.18 - 3.98) 116.11%

My test have been in normal range since thyroid removed. Suddenly they went to the range above. I lost 20 lbs, my son dyed, could this be the cause? I’ve been on 100 mfg levo and 5 mcg twice a day. Dr has reduced the levo to 75 this week . What could have caused the change?

welcome to the forum

So very sorry for your loss.

Yes grief and stress can affect thyroid levels

Loosing weight will also reduce amount of levothyroxine you might need

Retest thyroid levels 6-8 week after reducing dose

welcome to the forum Juliefaye, you will get lots of great advice & support here. Please keep posting if you have any further questions.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your son. Undoubtedly the stress associated with bereavement can alter thyroid levels. I have found that even a small loss of weight can affect how much Levothyroxine I require. Have your thyroid symptoms altered? Do you feel increasingly anxious, have a tremor or any palpitations (Possuble side effects of being ‘over range’)?

I would just like to add my condolences on your loss. As others have said, grief and stress can play havoc with your hormones. You may find that 25mcg reduction is too much but it’s all trial and error.
