hi … got a medichecks blood test to do as struggling with symptoms and need to check levels as I’m on a protocol to try move to more T3 than T4. 04:20am and Having a really really bad night of symptoms and can’t decide if I need more or less T3 and HR is struggled.

took a 5mcg around 3am to see if would help but now I’m still sick! ( last 10mcg dose was 9:30pm)

Q. question is would you just do the test now to see how things turn out knowing that I’m now having those symptoms before I take my morning medication at 7am?

Hi Anon_77,

Although I've only just started taking Levo and don't take T3 I've read many posts on the forum; if you do your blood test now you'll get a result that'll show a false high result with you only just taking your T3. So doing your blood test now won't be useful it would be better to follow the suggested forum guidance of splitting your dose. Sorry I cant remember the timings but you'll find the info on the forum.

I realise you're feeling unwell but it would be better to take your finger prick test after following the guidance on the forum in order to get more accurate test results.

Best wishes.

thanks hun yes it’s 12 hours between meds but unfortunately atm I’m unable to do this as I’m in a bad situation now so just considered Maybe I should just do one in the morning but yes I will probably have to wait - only issue is now I just don’t know what to dose !!!

I'm not the best person to advise you but if possible are you able to post again later when the forum is more active? You'll get members that take T3 that will be better placed to make suggestions to help you.

I don't know if you've already done this test but you shouldn't do it on a Saturday or Sunday.

With any home test that you are posting off yourself the instructions specifically state that the blood must be posted the same day as sample taken and preferably to arrive the next day. So to achieve this then it is advised to test on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday only and use Royal Mail's Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm Next Day service, if you use the Tracked 24 envelope and drop it into a post box there is no guarantee it will arrive next day.

Of course, always ensure last doses are as we advise:

Last dose of Levo - 24 hours before test

Last dose of T3 - 8-12 hours before test (split dose into 2 or 3 the day before ifyou don't normally do so)
