As some may be aware from my prior posts I am trying my hand at NDT. I wondered if others who are trying to tolerate NDT have noticed they are more or less tolerant to NDT depending on what they eat/how they live alongside. For instance, today I largely ate rubbish after studying the night before until 3am. I was a jittering wreck after taking my NDT, after many days of improved tolerance before!
In short - Does your lifestyle affect tolerance of thyroid meds?
Your lifestyle affects your health so it is likely to affect how your body responds to medication. I don't know what you are studying for, but make nutrition a study too. And working at 3.00 AM is not good for you either. Try getting to bed much earlier, and getting up earlier to do your work. It sounds like your body is trying to tell you something.
You say NDT, but there are different brands of NDT and they react differently.
For example there are Armour and Erfa and they have different side effects and suit different people. For me Armour seemed to have some sort of wheat or wheat derivative which I'm sensitive to. Erfa - not sure, but my hair started falling out until I stopped using Erfa.
Your post struck a chord with me. I have experienced similar with my Thyroid meds. A glass of wine the day before means I'll feel a bit queasy in the morning taking my thyroid meds! So I'd say that absolutely lifestyle has an effect.
HelloI find my lifestyle has a huge impact on how I feel. But not necessarily how well I tolerate NDT. But it makes sense that if your system is overloaded with ‘bad things’ (caffeine, sugar, alcohol and sleep deprived) that it struggles to metabolise meds or food.
Im all over the shop on NDT, im in Australia so batches and reliable sources are hard, 4 companies import and all have different hiddeous side effects, im just about done with NDT, the rubbish stuff im in atm is from china imported to Australia, ive put on 20kgs, my hair is dry, skin dry, anxiety off the charts. Terrible despite labs looking good.
