I had blood test 31/8/22 and due to see consultant/endocrinologist 2/9/22. I’m worried I’m going to go all the way to the hospital and my results not be released. On the NHS app it told me to contact my GP surgery results today, which I did. They said they haven’t got the results.
How long does everyone else’s take usually? !
Thanks

My GP tests are usually through to the surgery the next day but patients can't have the results until a GP has seen them and given the go ahead for them to be released to the patient.
Do you have time to contact your surgery before your endo appointment tomorrow?
I would imagine they'd be on the hospital's system so your endo may be able to see them even if you don't have them.
Florah who did the tests. If they were done at the hospital then the end's secretary should be able to tell you the results. If they were done at the GPs then they should have the results. The tests usually only take a few days but some surgeries will not give out the results until a GP has seen them.
I had blood tests done at my GP surgery on Wednesday a couple of weeks ago. The next morning I had a text from the surgery asking me to make a telephone appointment to discuss them with the GP. The same happened when my GP at the time first did the blood tests to see if I had a problem with the thyroid - had them on Thursday morning, she phoned me on Friday evening.
NHS Bloods are taking much much longer these days. 2 months ago it was same day or next day. I am also signed up on the Patients Know Best web access through my GP (ask your GP for log on details) but this time still no email notifications from them and nothing has posted yet. Its been 9 days since my blood test and I'm in the same boat with an appointment Monday with private Endo and no test results to show her yet. GP office called the lab and they said they were posting them yesterday but nothing .... so mediocre!
My standard GP-requested blood test results are usually posted the same day of the draw or the following day once the GP has reviewed them. I used to see any consultant-requested test results in a similar way. However, I had some tests done prior to a rheumatology consultation a couple of months ago and, although referred to in a following letter, the results are not visible on GP or NHS app unlike previous ones. Some things have also gone missing from my NHS app info, which only gives past GP testing results and nothing else, although I am invited to input any information that I have! It seems that the NHS app is utilised in different ways in different parts of the country, as where I am it offers nothing other than what I can access online from my GP. In addition, confusion seems to reign within the NHS in many respects, which does not help.
