The TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone, from the pituitary) is low. Which doctors interpret as the pituitary telling thyroid there is too much thyroid hormone.
The TSH isn’t reliable you need to look at FT4 & FT3.
If you take lio (T3) the TSH very frequently goes very low.
What is the range on FT4 (is on range by most ranges) was FT3 tested? It should be as you take lio.
How much levo & lio do you take?
Do you feel well?
Your doctor may reduce your replacement dose on these results (they focus on TSH), but you may not be over replaced.
Was the test in morning? Did you fast, how long was test after taking replacement?
Hi I take 30 mg t3 100 mg in 5 ml thyroxine I’m taking teva was taking zenteva had side effects on that pharmacy say can’t get mercury pharma Had blood test at 8 10 am not got the t3 results back yet
Looking at your previous post you’re on T3 …..and presumably on levothyroxine too
How much levothyroxine
How much T3
Do you always get same brand levothyroxine and same brand T3
Just testing TSH and Ft4 is completely inadequate
You will need to test privately
Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose change or brand change in levothyroxine or T3
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested.
Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum
Do you have autoimmune thyroid disease
About 90% of primary hypothyroidism is autoimmune thyroid disease, usually diagnosed by high thyroid antibodies
Autoimmune thyroid disease with goitre is Hashimoto’s
Autoimmune thyroid disease without goitre is Ord’s thyroiditis.
Both are autoimmune and generally called Hashimoto’s.
Low vitamin levels are extremely common when hypothyroid, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto’s or Ord’s thyroiditis)
20% of autoimmune thyroid patients never have high thyroid antibodies and ultrasound scan of thyroid can get diagnosis
In U.K. medics hardly ever refer to autoimmune thyroid disease as Hashimoto’s (or Ord’s thyroiditis)
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Day before test split T3 into 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day…..last dose T3 approx 8-12 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
