I had my thyroid and vitamin Medicheck blood test this morning at 8:30am (I didn’t take my thyroxine or eat/drink anything)
How long for results and do they get emailed to you?

Hi, I sent mine off to Medichecks this Monday and results came back at midday on Wed. They email you to say they are ready to view in your Medichecks account. Hope helpful

Did you do a fingerprick test and the sample has been posted? Or did you go to a clinic for venous blood draw and they are dealing with the sample?
If you've posted it yourself, what service did you use? Just the Tracked 24 return envelope or Special Delivery Guaranteed Next Day?
Royal Mail are on strike tomorrow so if you've posted it it wont be delivered tomorrow, there's a slim chance it may be delivered on Saturday but there's also a chance it may be hanging around until next week in which case the sample may be spoiled.
These are the strike days that have been announced:
Friday 26th August
Wednesday 31st August
Thursday 8th September
Friday 9th September
In normal times once the sample has been received at the lab then if you said "No doctor's comments" then it's possible the results may be ready the next day. If you have doctor's comments it can take an extra day.
I had my bloods done at a private clinic and then put it in a priority postbox at 9:30am this morning and it has a track24 label on so will be delivered within 24 hours.
I didn’t realise there was a strike but I did have a Google and they are still delivering medical boxes and are just striking on letters.
Fingers crossed it’s all good as I don’t have great veins and it took 4 goes to draw blood and I’m now covered in bruises.
I did add doctors comments… I was hoping I would get the results by this week as I'm impatient but it’s probably going to be next week….
Will Medichecks email to say they have received the sample?
Thanks

Sorry but Tracked24 does not guarantee delivery next day even in normal circumstances - I've used it in a priority post box and it took 48 hours, checked the Ts and Cs and there is no guarantee. I now use Special Delivery every time I send a sample back.
Add in the fact that they are on strike tomorrow and they say what will be delivered where possible is
Deliver as many special delivery and tracked 24 parcels as possible
and
Prioritise the delivery of Covid test kits and medical prescriptions wherever possible
So the return of a sample is not either of those medical priorities, the envelope just says "biological substance".
I don't think you have much chance of getting your results this week.
I can't remember whether Medichecks still send emails to say they've received the sample, they used to but I don't recall having them recently.
You can log into your Medichecks account
It will update when it’s received sample and processing
Hi
I put my sample in priority post box on Monday morning and the Lab didn't receive it until yesterday afternoon. I have since had another email to say they couldn't test the sample. I usually take it to post office and post it next day delivery but this time the counter was closed. Really annoying as now have to wait for them to send another kit.
Medichecks seem to be working around strike dates as they cancelled my first appointment and I had to re arrange it for a date which would get the sample back in time. Having a blood draw done at home. Hope this helps.
