Hello once again friends of TUK
I wish some advice please on the attached results.
They are not a full blood evaluation, I know you need ferritin & folate + for this.
Many thanks in advance.

On 100mcg levothyroxine and 25mcg T3
As you would expect…..TSH suppressed
Ft4 too low at 14 (12-22) at only 20% through range
No Ft3 result
Was test done early morning, ideally before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Last 1/4 tablet T3 approx 8-12 hours before test
GP reduced dose levothyroxine to 75mcg after this results
GP unaware that you take T3
You definitely didn’t need dose reduction
More likely a dose increase in levothyroxine
Current results….
How do you feel
Was test done as recommended
obviously just testing TSH and Ft4 is completely inadequate ….but with Ft4 abnormal and below range you clearly need 25mcg dose increase in levothyroxine
Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after any dose change or brand change in levothyroxine
Cheapest for TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 is Monitor My Health at £29 and 10% off via code from Thyroid U.K.
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
Most people when adequately treated when on levothyroxine plus T3 will need BOTH Ft4 and Ft3 at least 50-60% through range

Dose increased to 75mcg and 100mcg alternate days
Clearly not increased enough
Now get dose increase to 100mcg daily
Retest in 6-8 weeks
May need further increase after this
Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription
If yes, which brand
Approx how much do you weigh in kilo
Thank you once again for your reply. I weigh 75 Kilo I am 5ft 5 fit & healthy 63 year old.
I am much better since I joined this group but still get the fatigue, I put it down to my busy life and age related ?
If I increase my dose this may help do you think ?
I am on Teva Levo & Tiromel ,I have decreased Tiromel down to 12.5 in the past month as I had palpataions
I don’t do a gluten free diet I take selium also
I shall get private blood tests but on the interim should I increase my levo to 100 mcg not just on alternate days?
You need to get your GP to agree to 100mcg daily…..or your prescription won’t match what you’re taking
Retest thyroid levels after 6-8 weeks…..plus vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 if GP doesn’t test now
Are you on dairy free diet as taking Teva brand levothyroxine
Thank you. I bought over the counter in Spain 100 mcg of Sanofi Adventis so I can manage my dose and not run out. The conversation with the sr want fruitful in getting an increase in dose and only agreed on the alternative days. I can tell when I’m on the 75 days , I shall take your advice on testing but the drs won’t test for all I shall go private. Have you head of SA levotiroxina ?
As you have Hashimoto’s, are you on absolutely strictly gluten free diet and/or dairy free diet
If dairy free, are you on lactose free levothyroxine
Obviously Tiromel T3 isn’t lactose free
ESSENTIAL to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once a year
