Wycombe Hospital/Bucks Healthcare- Dr Henrietta Brain

Hi all. I’m looking to self-refer to an Endo who will at the very least consider (ideally prescribe) alternatives to Levothyroxine which I am not tolerating and is actually extremely debilitating for me. This is on the advice of my GP who is unable to refer me as they’ve already referred me and I’m with an Endo who refuses to consider anything other than ever-increasing doses of Levo and states that T3 is BAD for heart and bones and proven NOT to work?!!

Dr Henrietta Brain and Dr Andrew McLaren appear on Thyroid UK’s list of NHS Endo’s believed to have prescribed T3 and they are based at an Endo clinic close to me.

Anyone had any experience of either of these? Do they prescribe T3 if required?

I’d be grateful if you could direct message me as per forum rules.

Thanks ever so 😊
