Why has your NHS prescription for T3 been stopped? Were you doing well on it and showed a clinical need? If so then you shouldn't have it withdrawn and you can appeal. Other members have details of how to do this, maybe SlowDragon has this information.
Hi SeasideSusie,
I was counted as being on a trial in Cambridgeshire, and so had a NHS prescription. This was cancelled when I moved to the East Midlands. The local prescribing policy excludes DIO2 as a reason to have Liothyronine unless further research proves its need. More info in previous post and profile. Slowdragon has also messaged me. Many thanks for reply.
Wouldn't it be nice if they all sang from the same hymn sheet. Health care really is a lottery, and the odds are just as poor
Yes wouldn’t it be nice. It’s called the National Health service, so it should have one National policy/pathway for each diagnosis, treatment, medication etc. That would save lots of overheads on staff, offices etc. for those idiots that dream up local NHS policies. They should also sack the people who agree the contracts within the NHS at horrifically inflated prices.
Apparently on hospital in Kent is actually offering DIO2 test on NHS and Liothyronine if found to be positive
You need to lobby your MP, CCG, pals etc etc
