Thank you all for your very kind wishes and support. I am taking some time to rest and will then embark on an 8 week cardiac rehab programme. My Levothyroxine has been reduced from 100 mcg to 75mcg. Unfortunately at present I do not feel up to a fight with my G.P. or the Endocrinologist. I really need to take a step back and come to terms with the huge raft of new medication I have been prescribed. I really wish I understood Hypothyroidism far better than I do but I find it all very confusing. Once I have recuperated sufficiently I will get a private blood test done and investigate my hypothyroidism in more depth.

Recovering From My Heart Attack

Best wishes for your recovery.
Regarding your thyroid, good levels of T3 are essential for good heart function. I would strongly recommend you get regular testing of TSH, Free T4, and Free T3. The cheapest test I know of is the Monitor My Health test :

You can get 10% off the price with the discount code given on this link :

Bear in mind that doctors are terrified of T3. People with hyperthyroidism usually have very high levels of T3 e.g. 50 - 80 pmol/L wouldn't be unusual, and patients can sometimes end up with heart problems.
But you are hypothyroid, and have just had your Levo dose reduced. You couldn't end up with high T3 unless you were taking lots of T3 tablets. There are usually limits on how much a hypothyroid patient can convert T4 to T3.
Just for future reference in dealing with your doctors - this thread contains some useful links to actual data on risks of thyroid hormones, not doctor's guesswork and myths :

Good luck.
And another link for later when you feel up to it is this table of how chronic disease including cardiac health is affected by T3 and T4 levels. TSH110 posted it recently. Scroll through to table 6 where you will see the bad effect of low T3 on heart health,
I think that is very good timing. Cardiac rehab will give you confidence in how far you can push yourself, just at the time you are ready to get TFT's done. x
