I’m so pleased your anxiety has improved Geegee777. Anxiety has definitely been my most troublesome thyroid symptom and it’s always worse if my thyroid medication isn’t optimal. I reduced from 100 Levo plus 15 Lio to 75/ 15 as my anxiety worsened when my FT4 went over range. It took almost 12 weeks for me to feel better on this new (lower) dose, so hang in there. You certainly have room for an increase if your symptoms don’t improve on your current dose.
Thanks for your reply, I used to be so confident, but anxiety took over, like a suffocating fog, slowly taking away my self. I now have a renewed sense of purpose 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
My understanding is to try and aim for T3/4 to be around 50% thro range ? If my maths correct yours are no where near ! There is a calculator on here to check ? I am interested cos I’ve just started T3 getting bloods done in a couple of weeks to check levels
Hi, I m going low and slow and monitor how I feel, so far so good. After my second consultation with endo, he said to carry on with 5mcg t3 am and pm then retest my bloods in 3 months, with next consultation in 6months.Im just starting 10mcg in one dose with my levothyroxine, see how that goes, as afternoon dose gets in the way.
How lovely to hear that you're feeling better and especially that your anxiety has improved. I'm convinced my anxiety is thyroid related too, it's been a battle with the gp's to refuse antidepressants, tried counselling etc. I'm still waiting on a letter from an endo I saw a couple of weeks ago, hopefully to restart T3 as it was stopped for ectopic heartbeats in March. Still have them without it but have to say not as often and again I'm sure they're stress and anxiety related. Hopefully you'll continue to do well now you're getting help at last, I'm so pleased for you xxx
Prior to starting t3, whilst optimising my vitamins, I found supplementing vitd ( "my vit d levels where very low) a great help with my general wellbeing.
I did too, over 12 months ago, did a private blood test and was surprised to find low in Vit D, I'm always outside. Felt much improved after supplementing with 2,000 day, dropped to 1,000 day for now but will probably increase again as the days get shorter.
Wow, mine was 47 initially, self treated then was 97 and gp said no need to supplement but I carried on. Last test in May was 92 hence I'm still taking 1,000, my gp's don't care as long as it's over 75 but I wonder where it would be if I stopped taking them x
