Back in 2017 Lord Hunt deployed a European T3 price list to exemplify how outrageously huge U.K. prices were in comparison. They ranged, from memory, per hundred tablets from under £2(Spain?) to a quite untypical c £68 (Netherlands?)
U.K. prices have come down a fair bit but must still be huge compared to in Europe. Anyone able PM me I’d much appreciate info on current European prices, esp for larger comparable countries like Germany & France (is that Cynomel?) & Spain. Time to ask again why that (2018?) medicines cost control Act Jeremy Hunt brought in has never been deployed!???

This thread is about the price of T3, not Levo, and T3 is what I have mentioned in my reply above.
I don't think NDT is available in Spain, the only NDT without prescription comes from online suppliers as far as I know, I don't think you can buy it anywhere over the counter without prescription.
Thank you so much for your reply Yeah I used to buy it online but got a dud batch at start of covid and have not bought since. I don't do good on Levo but it's all I can get without paying for a private prescription which I have done in the past but it is very expensive. Again thank you for your reply
German prices are readily available by doing a search. The prices are the same everywhere in the country.
Still not complete, but my medicines document has information about some liothyronine products. (Not prices - but if you know something is available, you can try to find prices.)
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines
I have created, and try to maintain, a document containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world.
In France last week the price for 30 tablets of Cynomel was in euros 4.49 by prescriptionThis of course has 60/70% deducted by the CPAM. Mine is free as I have no thyroid.
I can add confirmation to Seaside Susie's and Scops_Owl's posts that Greece has very cheap T3 tablets - my contact there sent me info - 25 mcg x 28 days is 2.50 euros and no prescription needed.
I do and live in France. Because I have no thyroid I don't actually pay for it my GP prescribes it every five months. If you had to buy it with a normal prescription it's only just over 4 euros.
Many thanks all for your replies! The massively extra bits over here must have cost the NHS approaching £100M over the past few years (Or very likely a great deal more!) And then there’s the hassle & misery & illness & ruined lives of thousands of patients & of course the waste of precious NHS resources sending patients off in various directions in futile attempts to avoid/deny the clinical need for T3.
