Is Mercury Pharma levithyroxine 25mcg still available? My local pharmacy who were the only place I could get it are no longer able to. I have Wokhart (?) brand to try but still looking for Mercury pharma

I got mine a few weeks ago, but am worried that we won’t be able to get it, as Mercury have gone into liquidation. Let’s hope someone buys them out.

Mercury Pharma haven’t gone into administration, that was a wild inaccurate rumour

Oh, you have made my day, thank goodness for that. I really hope you are right. Was getting worried as I am on T4 and T3 and have trouble with other brands. How an earth did that rumour come bout? I read it on this group and looked it up. Just shows you can’t believe everything you read on the internet.

Can anyone else throw any light on Mercury Pharma please? I will ask the pharmacist today, when I collect my meds.

I'm having no problems with my pharmacy getting Mercury Pharma. I take 25 and 50mcg. I get mine from Boots.

I used to get mine at Boots too but had to change to a local pharmacy when they changed the brand they stocked. That was a while back, but I think the local pharmacy supplier has gone out of business. That’s why I wasn’t sure if it was a Mercury pharma thing or just a supplier problem.

To be honest, the small Boots near me stopped supplying Mercury Pharma T3 but had other brands. However, the larger Boots store in the high street have no problem obtaining it. I think it depends on who orders these medications.

Please see this pinned post:

Advanz Pharma, levothyroxine AND liothyronine

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

If your GP supports you getting a single make, they can specify like this:

“Levothyroxine 25 microgram tablets (Advanz Pharma)”

or

“Liothyronine 20 microgram tablets (Advanz Pharma)”

or whatever else, as appropriate.

Thank you for this. I phoned my nearest Morrison’s supermarket after someone mentioned they get theirs from them and they had loads in stock so I have a new prescription, just slightly further to go to get it. And I can let my local pharmacy know it’s still available I think it is their supplier that is the problem. Thanks
