I got an I owe You from chemist this month for thyroxine 25mcg tablets, are there any problems with stock levels?

Just wondering if anyone knows whether stock levels are currently an issue. Could do without chasing round for tablets each month for my repeat prescription. It’s only the 25mcg ones that I haven’t received. I got the 100s.

Hi there, has the pharmacy advised you when to come back for your 25's ?. It isn't ususual to get an IOU if they are waiting for the stock to fulfil your script

No it’s boots online. I’m hoping they will just send them when they’re in. I’ve heard stories of problems with drug stocks more generally andWondered if I should be worried.

Ah ok. I only take 100mcg a day but I must admit I have had more brands than usual over the last 12 months, doesnt appear to be much consistency.

My experience is that Boots usually supply Mercury Pharma 25 microgram levothyroxine. (And Almus for 50 and 100.)

We have recently had specific contact with Advanz (who own Mercury Pharma) and been repeatedly reassured there are no stock issues at all (levothyroxine, Eltroxin, liothyronine).

However, there have been issues due to a major distributor going into receivership. But I'd not expected that to affect Boots who kargely use their own associated company, Alliance.

Thanks helvella. I always get Teva (controversially) so unless it’s just Teva that they don’t have rather than sending me an alternative. Hoping that it’s just a blip.

I take Teva too and have been waiting for my 25mg tablets for over 2 weeks. Been calling the chemist daily
