Printed Copies of Blood Tests

Hi

I have online access to my test results but they disappear after a while so I emailed my surgery to request printed copies. They've replied saying its fine but I need to sign a consent form and tell them how far back to go ( I want 5 years) .

The GP will then review it and thn the tests will be ready. They've warned me due to workload, it could be 4 weeks. It seems rather convoluted. Has anyone else experienced this?

They have 30 days to respond to a Subject Access Request.

If you just wanted your last test results then they'd probably be available the same day or next day, but as you want results going back that far then as you want them printed that's quite a big job for someone at the surgery so it's reasonable to expect it to take longer.

Hi

I'm not complaining at the amount of time its going to take, I understand the workload, in fairness I don't remember having many blood tests in the last 5 years, I only got diagnosed with Hypo in 2020. I'm just surprised a GP has to review it, seeing as those are archived test results and have already been reviewed. Just wish the online access allowed historic test results to be viewed.

It's just protocol, GP has to give permission for patient to have the results.

I asked for a copy of a brain scan done in 2018 the other day, I've had a copy before but have mislaid it, and I need it to take to an appointment I have this afternoon. I asked on Monday, secretary says she will send note to GP to get permission, and I picked it up the next day.

Are you accessing your medical records using a computer or a mobile phone?I can access easily my full medical record from my phone (Android) , but accessing the full medical records through my computer is harder and incomplete.
