Was your request acknowledged?

How long has it been? They have 30 days to comply.

At my surgery when I make a request for blood test results, they send a message to one of the doctors (they have to have GP permission) then once they have confirmation from the GP the results are printed and available. Often the same day, sometimes the next day. But all surgeries are different, some don't like you having the results so will be as awkward as possible.

Are there any real doctors working for the nhs or have they all gone private already? Do you think the hire the cheapest quacks like they give the cheapest meds? Is it expensive to go private? would you need insurance? how would a person go about it. As I'm seriously going to try if i can afford to. Is bupa any good.

I need one that covers exsisting illness as i don't feel the nhs at the moment can care for me.

Doubt that is feasible:

What cover can you get?

You can take out most health insurance policies if you have existing conditions, but many do not pay out to treat them.

For example, if you have diabetes, most policies would pay for private treatment if you broke your leg but not for treatment for your diabetes.

(Just substitute a thyroid issue of diabetes in the above.)

About the only way to get covered for existing conditions is when you get covered by a company policy - and not all of them.

I really am a total brain dead when i comes to company policy etc, i just doesn't compute to me i really do have a blindness when i comes to understanding there language terms. My brain just switches off totally, i don't know how. But i will try to understand what they are saying. Thanks helvella xx

If I want copies of results from my surgury I just ring up and as long as the doctor has seen them I can have a copy. Can collect shortly afterwards. Asked once and the receptionist said just printing them as I am talking to you. Best of luck.

Not here, it feels like thye NHS try and make it impossible for you to understand and make any sense of what your experiencing, add that with the brain fog and dulling of senses due the meds and we are in a situation of shut up and put up I'm afraid.

You are legally allowed to have a copy when they have been checked by the doctor. I always keep my copies for future reference. Once I asked for a copy and they brought it through to me whilst I was waiting to see the doctor. You just have to persevere best of luck.
