Still eye watering if you need 100mcg daily to function!!

Indeed makes my ndt, Armour seem cheap at £140 per hundred of 1grain tablets ( 38mcg T4 & 9mcg of T3). So go figure why they don't prescribe that more willingly! No good for those who need T3 only I know.

That seems mad that the higher dose is cheaper! Is this the NHS tariff? Duped again!

There is only one supplier of 10 microgram tablets. Whereas there are more for 5 and 20 microgram tablets.

The new Roma hard capsules are not included - for no obvious reason. But they should represent competition for Morningside 10 microgram tablets.

(Edited as I typed 5 in the first sentence where I meant 10.)

Its a disgrace that they are so expensive in the uk. Miles cheaper on the continent! Dont they cross check prices elsewhere?

🤣 no worries....knowing the NHS they haven't got Roma on their procurement list....lol.

I meant to add that I was once told by a consultant that I could buy b12 vials cheaper than the NHS! The drug companies must love our NHS seeing it as a cash cow!

We do understand why it is not regularly prescribed.

The price is still exorbitant but those who are unwell on other thyroid hormone replacements and have daily suffering should have a trial and then get it prescribed if it has resolved symptms.

The price also means that many people are denied prescriptions who cannot find relief of their continuous clinical symptoms whatsoever and are forced to try to import..

T3s might not be suitable for some if the fillers/binders cause symptoms..

The reluctance of Endocrinologists/GPs to prescribed T3 due to cost for those who cannot find relief on levothyroxine

Why can the NHS not import T3 from elsewhere which is cheaper?

Why have 'they' also withdrawn NDTs which suited many?

They just ignore patients' claims as if we were machines and 'one size fits all'.

How could our older doctors i.e. Dr Skinner and Dr Peatfield enable their patients (who travelled to them from all over the UK ) to recover and due to their expertise were 'hounded at the end of their careers' for doing as they always did, diagnosed by clinical symptoms alone at the top

I have asked the department of health why the Roma capsules are not in the Drug Tariff. Seems it is they who decide what is included.

I’m sure there are many of us who stick to the German supply of T3. It is still much cheaper than those you mentioned in the post here despite an increase since Brexit. And as shaws mentioned, not all T3 tablets available here in the UK are tolerated.

Click on the Green button/arrow head.

Then use the search facility (magnifying glass) and choose the top result which will say: Part VIIIA products L. You will probably have to scroll through to reach Liothyronine,
