Hi guys my recent results from medichecks ! My gp also had tests done and now believes my problems not thyroid related and I have Polymyalgia ( based on symptoms as nothing showed in blood )

This is a diff gp at practice and said he would never have said it was thyroid … beginning to get me down !

When did you take your last dose of Levo before the test? Was it 24 hours?

Your TSH and FT4 are out of sinc, one would expect to see a lower TSH with a top of range FT4.

However, your Tg antibodies are over range which suggests possible Hashimoto's which always complicates things.

Thanks SeasideSusie yep I followed the instructions given on here . I will speak to gp , they did lower dose from 100 mcg to 87 could that make any diff ? He just says thyroid is ok ?

He'll say thyroid is OK because everything is in range, but they're not optimal results for most people.

How do you feel thyroid-wise? Do these results compare with other results on 87mcg?

Normally, lowering your dose would lower your FT4 and at some point your TSH would rise.

It’s hard to tell because a lot of the thyroid symptoms I had when they dropped the dose are similar to the polymyalgia symptoms 🤷‍♀️ Just frustrating 2 docs with completely diff opinions!

But, polymyalgia isn't a disease, it's a syndrome. A syndrome is a bunch of symptoms. Symptoms have to be caused by something. And, as far as you're concerned, the obvious cause is likely to be the drop in dose.

Polymyalgia literally means 'lots of pain in many muscles'. Muscle pain is a hypo symptom. Buy your doctor a dictionary for his birthday! :D

Looking at previous posts

You had dose levothyroxine reduced in March from 100mcg to 75mcg

ESSENTIAL to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once a year

Can’t see any previous vitamin results?

High TG antibodies are most likely due to autoimmune thyroid disease……

Can be slightly raised if have diabetes or PA

Currently thyroid results show poor conversion …..assuming last dose levothyroxine was 24 hours before test?

Thanks SlowDragon I’ll discuss poor conversation with GP ! I can’t post pic of vit results it’s not showing full screen shot ? They all looked ok but they suggested folate . I started the b complex suggested here with folate

You can add one picture per reply in a post

See rectangle of mountain and sun …click on there

Optimal vitamin levels are

Vitamin D at least around 80nmol and around 100nmol maybe better

Serum B12 at least over 500

Folate and ferritin at least half way through range

Thanks SlowDragon I tried adding pic but chopping half off 🤷‍♀️ I’ll look at ranges Medichecks mentioned lowish folate

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

In week before blood test, when need to stop vitamin B complex….. I find it a good idea to supplement a separate folate and separate B12 that week, otherwise folate drops when B complex is stopped

I take Avacal D3 1500mg , magnesium glycenate I just swapped to Thorne basic B complex ! But I did stop for week before blood draw so that makes seance about the folate b12 !

Sometines you have to hit the pic to maximise it and then the whole of it appears

Why investigate the obvious evidenced based condition you have when you can blame it on muscle aches. Something causes muscle aches in your case most probably hypothyrodism that is not being optimally treated. Don’t let that doctor get away with this 🐂 💩

Honestly without boring you it has been a nightmare! 1st GP told me she thort I had a Aortic Aneurysm when I saw the consultant he asked wat symptoms I had gone to GP with he was quite amused when I told me 🤷‍♀️ It’s mentally and physically draining 🥴
