I followed the link - which wanted me to watch a video and download some document that required me to provide an email address.

I used a secure, throwaway email address, and got an email. At which address I received an email after a few minutes. Opened that and found myself being asked to follow yet another link...

All links contained lots of additional information to help them track, etc.

Sorry, but if anyone has to make it so difficult to find anything out, I simply won't deal with them.

Good companies usually make their product information readily available.

Ok thank you so much fo going through this

Does this link and the science make any more sense before the wild goose chase?

I really don't get to see anything more about the product he is trying to flog.

Takes me down the same route as I reached before.

And that is after ignoring the miles of rubbish he spouts.

I agree with Lalatoot - and would not believe anything he says. There could be the odd verifiable fragment of information. Just to keep you believing.

Ok thank you so much. Trying to weed out any scientific truths is going to be nigh impossible it would seem!

It is classic scam promotion.

If you are not confident, it says just enough to make you wonder. But not enough to inform. Then you feel you want to follow in order to find out more. But when you get there, it will be mostly the same stuff, slightly rearranged.

(Some of the products they sell might be OK. Some might be terrible. But I am absolutely never going to buy anything from them due to their sales techniques.)

helvella unfortunately I got straight through using the link. Yes there was a video but I ignored that and scrolled down and got the blurb. Oh dear it was laughable. Almost made STTM look good.

Laughable!Full of misinformation such as:

"Down-regulate your reverse T3 hormone that’s overtaking your cell receptors."

"You might be surprised to learn that your thyroid gland can actually become blocked in multiple ways.

It can become blocked from both producing and releasing thyroid hormone, which we see all the time."

"Detoxify the thyroid suppressive hormones that are suffocating your cells."

I haven't watched the video. Just reporting a curious experience I've had in case it's of any interest to anyone else. Last year I took fulvic/humic acid supplement for about 6 months. I went completely hyper. For the last 3 months I haven't taken my thyroxine - I was on 50mcg daily before that. Don't know how long it will last as I've not taken the supplement for 3 months now.

So you have Hashi's?

rosetrees profile image

I might have. Last time I had antibodies tested they were very low. I have read that fulvic acid can affect thyroid function. I found an article that said you should be careful if you are on thyroid treatment as it can affect it. But I don't recall where I read that, sorry.

It also affects the immune system, so could have triggered a Hashi's 'hyper' swing.

Brinmeyer is simply a self-serving quack, who promotes wildly wrong information and ideas and hopes through this, to stir people up enough to buy into his snake oil. This sort of thing should never see the public light of day.

Thanks! Will stay well away 👍 it just came up on my fb feed. Presumably because I follow a few thyroid fb profiles. Just wanted to check the science he espouses x

There was a member of this forum several years ago who paid for Brimeyer's diet program. It contained a hell of a lot of sugar apparently.

The member concerned had a first heart attack within weeks of starting the diet. Obviously there is no way of knowing whether these two things are related.

Yikes! Thanks for that information.

I just wondered if the scientific references are real and can help. I have been discharged by my Endo and won’t get any help from my gp’s who are clueless and a referral for a second opinion revealed only slightly over their range which they would not act upon. I am desperate ly looking for answers. Near suicidal now.

It is possible to treat yourself for hypothyroidism.

The problems that can arise when doing this are :

1) You can sometimes find a reliable supplier online, use them for a few years, but they then vanish overnight.

2) There is a possibility that UK laws may change and make importation of thyroid hormones impossible - but for now it is legal in the UK and has been for a long time as far as I know.

3) Some customs officers (presumably new to the job) have confiscated parcels with thyroid hormones in, and destroyed them, thinking they are illegal. Obviously you can complain, but doing so doesn't replace your pills or refund your money.

4) If you haven't got an official diagnosis of hypothyroidism you are unlikely to get one in future. Doctors will see a "normal" TSH after you start treating yourself and tell you that you are fine. Once you've altered your thyroid hormone levels with your own pills there is no guarantee that they will ever return to what they were before treatment began. You wouldn't be able to claim for free prescriptions in England without a diagnosis.

The biggest advantage of treating yourself, of course, is that you can decide when you feel well, and when your TSH or Free T4 or Free T3 are at the right level for you. You don't have the situation that many of us find ourselves in, saying to the doctor that you feel awful and they tell you that you are fine. It can take years sometimes to get doses right. If you've been hypothyroid and untreated for years it can take a long time to get things right.

As I said to both Endo’s their position needs to change or thousands of us will self treat. They could not care less at this it is a shocking indictment of our NHS. I have had to self test and self treat for years. I can’t afford it and shouldn’t have to. My supply has dried up. I am condemned to this continual misery at their hands. As have a lot of us. It has to change
