doctor recommendation for hashimoto's around Chester?

Hi there, I am new here and would love to ask any of you:

I have Hashimoto's and search for a good doctor who treats it in a holistic way.

Does anybody have a recommendation in the area of cheshire west, maybe even in Chester? Could be also a private one if not too expensive.

Thanks so much for any suggestions❤️

Welcome to the forum

We would always recommend getting FULL thyroid and vitamin testing done before booking any consultation

Always test thyroid levels early morning, ideally before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Meanwhile

Email Thyroid U.K. for list of recommended thyroid specialist endocrinologist and doctors

tukadmin@thyroiduk.org

Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose change or brand change in levothyroxine

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested.

Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once year minimum

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto’s or Ord’s thyroiditis)

Autoimmune thyroid disease with goitre is Hashimoto’s

Autoimmune thyroid disease without goitre is Ord’s thyroiditis. Both are autoimmune and generally called Hashimoto’s.

In U.K. medics never call it Hashimoto’s, just autoimmune thyroid disease (and they usually ignore the autoimmune aspect)

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally before 9am last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Hi. I live in Chester. I’m sorry to say I haven’t any recommendations for holistic Drs or Endocrinologists in my area. I had to travel to Oxford to get my help. I was diagnosed within two consultations and sorted. It was worth every mile. While the NHS basically abandoned me.

I found going private was my only route to getting my health back.

My private only Endocrinologist does zoom now and telephone calls.

Hello dear,This health condition is quite a journey! Thank you for sharing this, it is great to

hear about your positive experience. May be you could tell me the contact details

or name of your endocrinologist? I am happy that you got your health back and

it does give me also hope to find my own way.

Have a lovely weekend❤️🙏

Any info on specific doctors must be by private messages only

McPammy can private message you, if not done so already

Come back with new post once you get full thyroid and vitamin results before booking consultation
