Can having hashimotos cause dry breaking hair?

Mine just seems to keep getting dryer and more hair breaking off over the years.

I can't find anything to soften it 🙄

When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested

Please add most recent results and ranges

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Are you on strictly gluten free diet or dairy free diet

Or vegetarian or vegan

The last private full panel i had done was March 2020. My vitamins were all optimal then.

Since covid hit i wasn't able to get another one.

Going to do one through blue horizon soon.

I supplement vit d and igennus super b complex.

Thanks

Remember to stop taking vitamin B complex a week before test ….as B complex contains biotin and biotin can falsely affect test results

Instead you might want to consider taking a separate folate and separate B12 during that week

Magnesium supplements can help soften skin and hair

Igennus triple magnesium is good option

Can tip powder out m if can’t swallow large capsules

Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a go.

My gp tests my TSH and t4 every 6 months as i' at risk of developing autoimmune thyroid disease.

I thought my tpo being >1000 already shows i have it 🙄

Yes you do …and presumably you have symptoms

Just testing TSH and Ft4 is completely inadequate

You need TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 plus all four vitamins tested

Always test early morning, ideally before 9am

Have you had coeliac blood test done yet

Or are you already on strictly gluten free diet

Yes i've had symptoms for years.

My tests at the gp are always done around 8.10am.

Negative for coeliac.

And been gluten free for about 6 months so far.

My last round of tests were confusing as my t4 has always been 14/15 for years.

Now it's 18.

Or maybe that's normal 🙄

Have you noticed any improvements on gluten free diet?

Come back with new post once you get thyroid and vitamin results
