anyone's thyroid affected by the astrazeneca ?

I had the Astrazeneca in March, & have has a scary time with serious adverse reactions. I'm now seeing a brilliant homeopath & my energy levles were so low he gave me a thyroid remedy, it improved them, he stopped it as levels were good, then they slumped again...So I'm back on his thyroid remedies & feel better! This is in addition to buying Armour (the price is crippling !) Can I get it on NHS/ I don't do well on levo & have a letter from consultant saying so? I alo had in depth blood tests which show the astrazeneca has put my body into an extreme auto-immune reaction...It's been so tough ( I've only had 3 years feeling good with buying NDT) now this! Feeling sorry for myself. My Endo, writes:

"Vaccines can induce thyroiditis, although only rarely. So if you already have Hashimotos (Autoimmune), it can occasionally get exacerbated. There is very limited data on this"

THE other consultant I saw for the vax damage says: : "I originally saw Jules on the 26th of October and had a follow up consultation over the phone with her on the 18th of November. Jules works in radio and has a background of Hashimoto’s that she treats with natural desiccated thyroid.

She received her first COVID19 AZ vaccine in March of this year and subsequently became unwell. She has suffered with a variety of neurological symptoms including headache, temporal pain, possible Bell’s palsy, electric shock symptoms in her limbs, nasal congestion with bleeding together with significant fatigue. She has been seen locally at QEQM hospital as well as by a variety of specialists. She has an allergy to penicillin and cephalosporins.

Examination in October was essentially abnormal in terms of acute pathology.

My clinical impression is that Jules is experiencing many of the symptoms associated with ‘long COVID’ – something we have seen both after COVID19 infection and after vaccination.

We undertook comprehensive blood tests that showed a positive ANA, positive parietal cell antibodies and a borderline elevated CRP.

We discussed that in some people after infection or vaccination, the immune system can misbehave and result in the complex symptoms Jules is experiencing.

There has been some published evidence by colleagues at UCLH that an anti-histamine approach can help patients with long COVID (jim.bmj.com/content/early/2...

It's been 11 months now, I'm taking loads of supplements too..Would appreciate your thoughts please?

Thanks for the post. My main comments are:

1. Have you reported your vaccine adverse reaction on MHRA yellow card? Important.

2. An alternative to your homeopath (if ever needed) is Dr Sara Myhill who seems respected on this forum. A former GP, she has treated patients with ME (which you have) for many years and more recently long covid and covid vaccine effects - all with natural solutions.

Dr Myhill hasn't taken on any new patients for years but she does run Zoom workshops, and management plans following a questionnaire, for non-patients. She has now de-registered from the GMC and is now a Naturapathic Practioner registered with the ANP. She can no longer prescribe prescription medication.

Hi, I had an adverse reaction after my booster. I went from hypo to hyper very quickly, although to be fair I did have a very mild dose of Covid 5/6 weeks before. After the booster which was Pfizer, my heart rate went really high even at rest, hot flushes, tremors etc. I split my dose for a few days and went back to normal dose and it started again. So I alternated between missing a dose and splitting a dose, then threw in a full dose and see how that felt. Fortunately it’s settled down after about 6-8 weeks and I’m back on normal dose now.

The link in your post to a BMJ article isn't working. Please could you post it again, and/or give us the title of the paper so that we may be able to find it.

You would need to discuss the possibility of being prescribed Armour with your GP. There is no licensed NDT available in the UK, and as you are fully aware, it's extremely expensive even to the NHS, so most NHS surgeries won't fund it. But some people have managed to get it on the NHS so it is always worth trying.

I suspect most people who've suffered with possible autoimmune thyroid flare ups after Covid vaccination haven't reported it, so the data would be limited for that reason alone. (Links to Yellow Card vaccine information in this post healthunlocked.com/thyroidu... )

Hi - I had the AZ in April. I was hospitalised, lots of tests ( mainly to rule out other conditions I think) . To cut a long story short, I have been left with bouts of crippling migraine type headaches. My TCH / T4is up and down like a yo-yo , I’ve spent a fortune on private blood tests and changed my Levo dose many times ( up and down). I have Hashimoto’s. Hopefully the medical community are accepting that the vaccine has affected some people with underlying conditions- more evidence is now coming to light. It was hard enough getting doctors to take thyroid conditions seriously, adding in the Vac problems experienced by some of us just adds to the frustration and despair.

Yes I did . I did not take any further vaccinations after the first AZ . I hope that my doctors will give me a medical exemption when applying for a vac passport- not holding my breath.

Me too, I think I had an autoinmune thyroid flare up after the second vaccination last summer, I became very very hypothyroid, wasnt going to the toilet for many many days, pain in the thyroid/throat area, and it also affected my menses. Labs only showed an increase in antiglobuline antibodies and low t3, and my doctor started giving me T3. Antibodies havent decreased yet. My doctor said to me it had happened to other patients as well but that vaccination was neccesary. I´m due my third dose now, and I dont know what to do. This is going to last for a while so if I´m vaccinating myself every year it means that my autoinmune system is going to be on fire forever.

The vax has left me with high blood pressure, joint pain and bleeding veins. I have had a whole range of blood tests and then been ignored. I am losing weight, I know most would like this but it does not seem to matter how much Christmas cake I ate, the weight still went down. I sleep a lot and am still tired. My thyroid levels are good (on NDT).

Reading a lot about side effects have shown that many people begin to feel better after 7 to 8 months after the last vax. I did not have the booster as no one could tell me if this would have a negative effect, so I am now at 7 months and keeping my fingers crossed.

There is a lot that is not being said, not published, or put down to "nothing to do with the vax", but there must be a reason my blood pressure, which was 120/60 all my life, to suddenly go to 180/90. Blood pressure pills are not bringing it down. Fed up.

I am in the U S and my husband and I got the J & J (Jensen) covid 19 vaccine. I had an extreme reaction 4 hours after getting it and within a week had severe knee pain. It is finally subsiding after 11 months. I still have pain now and then, but at least can now sleep most nights. My husband didn't have a reaction immediately, but within a week, he had a frozen shoulder on the side of the shot. He has been babying that shoulder now for 11 months and finally has an appointment with his dr. We both have hypothyroidism and are on NDT. My doctor said she's seeing a number of patients with similar complaints. She said it appears these vaccines are causing severe inflammation in different areas especially in joints.

I was OK until I had the flu jab and then the Booster two weeks later. From then on (last November), I have have gone backwards a couple of years with Thyroid symptoms I had before finally getting treatment with Thyroxine. UP until those two last jabs I was reasonably OK. After the Booster (Pfizer) and the extra strong flu jab they give to over 70's in the UK, I have been quite unwell. Lots of joint pain, swollen Thyroid, hair loss, itchy red skin and anxiety. Doctor says no connection but he and I both know that is not true.

I really think doctors everywhere are so afraid for their careers, if they start to report what they all know is true...that these vaccines are causing issues with many who get them. It's all great to hear...getting covid 19 would be so much worse then any reaction to the vaccine. I'm so sick of hearing this when I have had stabbing knee pain for 11 months and after xrays, they don't see any bone issues. It's all inflammation! My husband can't even put his coat on without help because of his shoulder issue after this vaccine.

I was fine about having the Vaccine for Covid. I do think though that for people with overactive or or over-reactive immune systems should have been monitored more carefully for these kind of side effects and Doctors should be told what to look for and treat the consequences accordingly. Boosting the immune system is often promoted as the good thing to do but that attitude suggests one size fits all in human beings, which is lazy thinking. I need my immune system boosting like I need a hole in the head and I am paying for it now.

Yes I had hypothyroidism for 20 years and been fine on levo ...until AstraZeneca blood pressure went high then low I always had a steady low pressure, headache for 4 months, extreme fatigue, loss of feeling in legs arms and just a feeling of very unwell. I have penicillin allergy from early age too. now 8 months later feel better but am left with burning sensations in right side. My antibodies went high after vaccine and was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s. Am taking supplements and doing all blood tests and increasing levo slowly. Just hoping this will settle ...not having booster.
