Just got my blood results from my GP, ranges not given but I assume them to be the same as my last ones so I have included these in brackets
TSH - 2.02 (0.35. -5)
T3 - 5 (3.8 - 6.7)
T4 - 15.2 (7- 20)
My TSH has gone up after being suppressed fit many years, T4 gone down as expected.
Blood test done 8.40am, fasting and 24 hours after meds.
I still feel under medicated and feel my levo was dropped too low (was on 150mcg, reduced to 100mcg). I have gained more weight, feel sluggish, fatigued, water retention worsened. But T3 has stopped my constipation, so I want to continue with it.
Endo appointment on Thursday, do you think I should ask for more T4 or T3 (on 20mcg)?
TIA

I would ask for an increase in levo first and see where that takes your results. If your last T3 liothyronine dose was 24hours before your test then your FT3 is a false low. The gap for T3 dose and test is recommended at 8 - 12 hours.
An increase in T3 might push your false low ft3 too high; an increase in levo will hopefully just nudge it up depending on how well you convert and should increase your ft4.
Thank you.I have read about the dose of T3 prior to test, but take mine in one dose and do the same as shaws. I have read on here somewhere that you add about 15/20% to the result, which would give me a T3 of around 5.75-6, so still within range?
I’m a poor convertor, but think perhaps another 25mcg of levo would be the next best step.
