Help please. I have recently increased my T3 from 40mcg to 45mcg. I am under a specialist who monitors but doesn’t provide T3. I source this myself outside the UK. I feel great finally back to a level where I was in 2017 before they insisted I trialed T4/T3 having been on T3 for 15 years!Since increasing my T3 I have had an awful itching all over my body. I have been prescribed Fexofenadine Hydrochloride but it doesn’t stop even with piritine supplements.
My dr says I may need to add T4 to see if it’s due to a lack of it that’s causing the issue. Can she be correct? I am trying to get my specialists advise but covid has put a delay on any appts.
The only other thing to change is stopping aspirin due to divecutitus . Could this have been suppressing my itching ?
My levels are T3 / 5.6 T4/ 1.3 TSH / 0.05
I just need this itching to stop so any help advise greatly received.

Try taking one antihistamine tablet one hour before taking T3? It could be that you have a sensitivity to something in your T3 and may need to take one from another company,
Shaza16, Changes in hormone levels can bring on 'histamine intolerance'. This can be thyroid hormones and/or sex hormones. So, not necessarily the T4/T3 ratio as you're suggesting, but it could b . I can't point you at anything specific but you could do some 'googling' to see if any clues turn up that ring bells for you.
Just wondering whether this itching is related to lupus? I’ve got well managed lupus nephritis but at night when the next dose of meds ie MMF is due my scalp itches like 😠.
Itching may be an indicator of kidney disease?
Sometimes I take Cetirizine hydrochloride (antihistamine), 1 tab at night when it gets really bad.
I have tried antihistamine before T3 no change so just might just try some low T4 as my kidney test were fine. Got to find something soon it’s driving me 😡
