Blood Test Query

Hi

I just had my bloods done with Thriva and rather frustratingly they didn’t do my Free T4 because they ran out of blood.

I feel like I’m slightly hyper at the mo.

They tested T3 and T4:

My T3 was 8.2 (range 3.1-6.8).

T4 was 172 (66-181).

Would I be right in thinking that T4 increases along with Free T4? So it might give me an indication that my Free T4 is high. I’ve looked back through my results and it definitely seems to be the case ie higher T4 equals higher Free T4.

172 is actually the highest it’s ever been.

Thank you.

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking

Was test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Did you get vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 tested

Yes to all.

Currently take 125 mcg on day one, 100 mcg days two and three. Then the cycle repeats. Also take T3.

I’m asking my original question so I know whether I need to reduce thyroxine or T3.

So how much T3 are you currently taking

Day before test did you split T3 into 2 or 3 smaller doses, taking last dose T3 between 8-12 hours before test

Last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Important to stop taking any vitamin B complex a week before test as contains biotin and biotin can falsely affect test results

Ah yes sorry, 10 mcg T3.

Yes I did the test as always.

I’m only taking Omega 3, Vit D and calcium (due to low calcium) at the moment. So no B vits.

All vitamin results are ok except ferritin but I have ongoing issues with this and transferrin saturation. I’m currently trying to get a specialist appointment about it.
