Flare up/ symptoms / need to induce period

So I’ve been on the increase of Armour for a week and a couple days. I went from 15 to 30. I take the 30mg at 6 am before any other supplements, go back to sleep. When I wake up, I take the rest of my supplements. Which is vitamin d, vata supplement from banyan botanicals (this is good for me, I’ve used it before and it helped me get my period back) , I also take evening primrose oil, and the paloma health thyroid support (there’s NO iodine in this) . I take LDN on my high inflammation days.

I know that my symptoms are hormone related, probably cortisol, my progesterone, testosterone and estrogen are all low D well, and the fact that I haven’t gotten my period in 2 months. And before that it was very irregular. It feels like torture, this is hell. Hashimotos and hypothyroidism is hell. Sometimes I just don’t know what the point of life is if I’m going to feel like this everyday. Eating so clean, careful. Using the saunas, working out lightly and not over doing it. Eating like a damn bird yet gaining weight.

I need advice on how to induce my period. I WAS taking vitex and then someone in here said maybe that was keeping me from getting a period. So I don’t know what to do anymore but I need to get my period. I’m gaining weight. My legs are swollen, I look like shit, my hair is falling out. I’m trying to be patient and trust that the Armour will continue to help and calibrate my body, but when I eat so clean and healthy, and I keep gaining weight, and I see how swollen and stiff my legs and arms are it just makes me feel so upset. My doctor gas lit me once again and said that my “good and bad days have nothing to do with my thyroid”. I sort of put her in her place and said yes absolutely my good and bad days are thyroid related because my thyroid isn’t optimal yet. I’m so tired of being gas lit. I’m so tired of feeling like shit. I’m so tired of eating like a bird and gaining weight…

If anyone has any recommendations on how to induce a period please let me know. I also have progesterone cream. And I do have vitex, don quai, and shatavari I just haven’t been taking them.

Eating like a bird causes problems for hypothyroidism. We need calories and fat to efficiently convert T4 to T3. If we do not have a high enough calorie intake we disrupt that conversion resulting in lower T3 which makes us more hypo. This could be why you are still gaining weight.

I eat calories and fat. I eat a keto ish diet. By eating like a bird I mean I don’t eat ANYTHING bad. I don’t eat gluten, corn, soy, bread, sugar, dairy, Etc etc etc. I feel restricted. I’m eating this way because I react to so many different foods. So I don’t know what to do anymore :(

Maybe you should try easing off progesterone until your period starts how much evening primrose oil are you taking ?

Sorry I said this in your last post. Are you eating enough to get a period I wonder? Especially carbohydrates. Might be too low if you’re on a keto ish diet as you put it.

Did you ever get your period to come on? If this is a problem for you, I would suggest you stop the Vitex, Dong Quai, and the thyroid support formula containing Ashwaghanda and see what happens. All of them effect hormones. I've heard of Vitex for menopause, not in general. But those are the things that are effecting your period, not the thyroid medication. There are many 'mixes' of thyroid 'supplements' which is a devised concoction of vitamins and minerals that vary from one mfr to the next based on who knows what. If you want a basic vitamin supplement, look for individual types like a Thorne B-Basic. Have you had your iron & folate levels checked along w/a CBC and CMP? I've seen Paloma Health in advertisements. What do you think of their thyroid 'experts'?? Are they easy to deal with?
