What’s he written on the script? There are German pharmacies you can buy from and post the script to them but only if 50 or 100 of 20mcg on script. They are on the treatment pages of thyroid uk. There are also some uk Pharmacies but no idea on costs.
wow - thanks so much SlowDragon … I live in Brighton - east sussex . So does my GP have to follow the RMOC guidance do you think - I'm a tad confused !
My endo is an NHS endo but I saw him privately over a year 5 times where he tried me on just levo and things only improved when he introduced 25mcg of T3 ( cytomel).
as an aside - do we know WHY it is so expensive here … I'm guessing that the German pharmacy are not subsidising us so why cant we buy Thybon or Cytomel cheaper here on private prescription - I find it so baffling !!!
my prescription is from my GP not so sure if its classified as private - shes just changed script to 20mcg to avoid any problems thou - thanks for all your help and info x
Is it on an FP10 prescription form? That is the standard NHS green prescription - though there are some variations for a number of reasons (e.g. Welsh ones have GIG and NHS).
If so, it is an NHS prescription. If not, it is a private one. More or less.
My prescription said “Liothyronine 10mg” and that’s it, no problem buying from Bennewitz pharmacy, even though tablets come as 20mg x100 a week ago bought 2 boxes without any problem
