I’m on T4 T3 combo 60 mcg levo and 10 mcg Lio.
On my latest results my T3 has dropped also my T4 a little. I’ve been taking Propranalol for migraines and raised cholesterol and wonder if that could be the reason as I’ve read.
My NHS Endo says to see what next results are before altering dosages but I won’t see him until late March or April.
Results enclosed .
Thanks

How much levothyroxine were you taking BEFORE T3 was added?

Endo reduced levo to 50mcg October 2020 then I increased back to 60mcg December 2020. I had tried 75mcg in 2019 but my T4 went over range and palpitations worsened. I started Liothyronine November 2020.

Well you could try increasing levothyroxine a little more now….. or alternatively add 3rd 5mcg dose T3
But only add one or the other…not both

I was on 15 mcg Liothyronine but reduced as T3 went over range.

When you tested ….
Did you test as recommended
Testing as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Day before test split T3 into 3 x 5mcg and taking last 5mcg dose 8-12 hours before test?

Always test early morning before food and drink with last dose levo 24 hours before test, but I’m on 10mg T3 and there would have been more than 12 hours after last dose.

Day before test split T3 into 5mcg doses…..last 5mcg approx 8-9pm …assuming testing 8-9am
Or day before test split as 5mcg waking, 2.5mcg mid afternoon and 2.5mcg at 8-9pm

Obviously you need to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
Are you on strictly gluten free diet

Vitamin B12, D, Ferrititn and Folate were good. See above post for what I’m taking.

I take b complex in liquid form
So did you stop vitamin B complex a week before test as contains biotin and can falsely affect test results
Does vitamin B complex contain folate or folic acid
How much vitamin D
When was vitamin D last tested
Reply (0)Report
Yes stopped week before. B complex contains folic acid.
I take 3000 IU D spray.
Last vitamin D results December 2020 was 107nmol/L (50.0 - 200.0) when I had restarted two months prior as I reduce and stop during summer.

Next time you need to buy vitamin B complex perhaps consider one with folate in
Vitamin D, ideally test twice year.
The red spray by Better You….one spray = 1000iu
The green spray by Better You… one spray = 3000iu

I take the red one with K2. So I take 3000iu which is 3 sprays as it says.

Many people assume it’s one spray…..
Reply (1)Report
Strange as it does say take 3 sprays.

I struggle taking tablets, is there a vitamin b complex spray with folate instead of the liquid with folic acid?

I don’t know
I use either Thorne or Jarrow B right
Both are large capsules…I can’t swallow anything large ….just tip capsule powder out into cup, then swallow with water
Reply (0)Report
Ok thanks. I might try that then.I wonder if the difficulty in swallowing is anything to do with thyroid. I have no goitre, very slim neck actually.

So probably have Ord’s thyroiditis where thyroid shrinks and shrivels up

I’ve never heard of that. I assume the treatment is the same? How would it be diagnosed?
