ARMOUR THYROID

Armour thyroid has 38 mcg levothyroxine (T4) and 9 mcg liothyronine (T3) per grain. Some folks find that they need to add either additional synthroid (T4) or additional liothyroinine (T3) to their dosing regime to fine tune their dosage. The fixed amounts of T4 and T3 in Armour don't suit everyone.
Maybe you doctor feels you need a higher FT4 level?
With seeing your blood results it is difficult to comment further.
Armour may have the EQUIVALENT of these two synthetic medications, but it is BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS that it CANNOT contain any SYNTHETIC products as it originates from the dried thyroid gland of "a" pig.
Synthetic T3 (liothyronine) and synthetic T4 (Levothyroxine)may may do exactly the same job as natural T3 (triiodothyronine) and natural T4 (tetraiodothyronine), but I fail to understand how this can be as they are DIFFERENT chemicals.
The manufacturer of Armour also used to state this manipulation of the truth as the genuine truth but changed their claim when I challenged them.
You are so very keen to point out differences between the compounds in desiccated thyroid and those in levothyroxine and liothyronine products, perhaps you would tell us what those differences are?
One is NATURAL, the others are SYNTHETIC. What is there to explain?Their chemical structures merely RESEMBLE each other, so how can they work in exactly the same way.
It's up to you to prove they do work in exactly the same way, not me to prove an impossibility.
If Armour is natural thyroid how does it come in a small small form that is easily swallowed? Because it has been processed...........................
The issues of who owns what are complicated. Currently AbbVie own Allergan who own Forest who produce Armour Thyroid.
It is so very easy to see a change of ownership, a change of company name, whatever, and at the same time read and feel changes have occurrred. But there are many possible reasons for changes and, even if they occurred at the same time as changes of ownership, it is often not at all clear they are related.
