Hi everyone,

I’ve got a private prescription for Armour Thyroid 2 grains. For 100 tablets it’s £250.

Does anyone know where I can get it cheaper? PM me please 😊

As you have a prescription it's basically a case of ringing round the pharmacies and see what they will charge. ThyroidUK has a list here:

Thank you 😊 I’ve rang them all. I’ve read somewhere you can go through a German pharmacy but can’t find any more info

The German pharmacies are for liothyronine, not Armour

My doctor informed me that take it armor thyroid in my 70s that it may cause blood clots and he advised me to change over to another brand I’m going to do the next time I see him

I'd be interested to know what he claims is the difference between Armour and "another brand"? What evidence his claim is based on? And what other brands don't cause blood clots?

Armour brand thyroid is about $88 US dollars (73.88 euros) in the United States for a 90 day supply with insurance. Without insurance it would be about $120 US dollars (100.86 euros).

That’s crazy how much cheaper it is! I can buy it from America without a prescription, but once I’ve paid import tax and delivery it works out the same price as here 😔 it’s so expensive to be poorly!

Bummer!! :-(. There are a few cheaper brands Naturethroid and Westhroid, but still the same thing with import tax. Armour used to be $6 for a 30 day supply back in 2012. I’m not sure why the price increased.

I’ve tried levo and t3 and still no improvement so I discussed with my private dr and agreed armour would be the best one to try. I hope it works for this much!

That’s where I got my T3 from before. It’s £250 for Armour once you’ve paid delivery and import tax. Thank you
